Yes. Just read any of the reviews released in the last couple of days. Gotta hurt for the AMD die-hards, they deserved better just for hanging in there.

This bit is a mistake/error/wrong AMD does have microcode updates.
Now, we wonder did AMD learn a lesson here and will the company put micro-code update function in its future cores such as Bulldozer
 
True, and guess what that means.... Have fun overclocking the 9500/9600 parts over 2.4GHz and running into the TLB flaw.
 
Seems to be hit-or-miss:
Some 9500/9600 parts may even be overclocked to 2.6, 2.8, 2.9, 3.0 GHz and they will have no problems whatsoever, while some will have this error

Hopefully they clear it up with B3.
 
I don't read many Inq articles, but that one appeared to be harder to read than usual. Missed references and poor sentence structure don't make for good writing!

Look around at the articles several places, like Anandtech, discussed this same "errata".

However, I wouldn't really call it an "errata" if it can't be fixed with some BIOS microcode. Or if it didn't occur across all clocks.

Some chips just don't make the cut at or above 2.4Ghz. And the higher you go, the more likely you are to hit a problem when 100% loaded.

Sounds more like an architecture / yield / process problem to me.

But I'm not an EE, so what do I know. Well besides the FACT that 2.4Ghz or higher is a big problem for Phenom until a new stepping.
And the samples that did hit higher than 2.4Ghz, really sucked up the juice and put off a lot of heat.

While with Core 2 Quads you can usually hit 3+Ghz fairly easily (G0 stepping)
and with the 45nm Quads some people are getting 4Ghz overclocks with the QX9650's.
