Troubleshooting occasional lockups - hardware failure?

I've been having an issue for the past couple months with my rig. The computer runs fine until the OS has been running for a while (~ 1-2 days, INCLUDING sleeps), then it'll either completely lock up to the point that I have to disconnect power, or it will constantly freeze for a moment every 15-30 seconds, and it will show the wrong cursor (ie if I mouse over a link, instead of seeing the normal 'hand' cursor, I'll see the 'highlight text' cursor).

All of this persists even after reinstalling windows on a new hard drive, with the other hard drive disconnected.

Temps for the CPU and GPU seem fine, and the problem doesn't necessarily seem linked to CPU/GPU stress.

What should I try? Thanks.

My specs:
Phenom II 965 @ stock 3.4
Galaxy GTX 460 768mb
Asus M4A87TD-USB3
Kingston 4gb HyperX
128gb Samsung 830 SSD (Old HD was a 500gb mechanical drive, but this seems irrelevant)
500w Antec PSU

Which 500W Antec do you have?

Have you tried to reset CMOS?
Can some of your parts in another PC?

Unfortunately I don't have another PC to test them in.

I could try to reset CMOS, but I haven't changed anything recently (aside from switching to AHCI for my SSD - but the problem was occuring before that.)

I believe this is my PSU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371004

(NOT positive, but I remember it isn't an 80 plus model)

My first thought was thermal, but you've addressed that. Have you run memtest yet?

IIRC the FAQ sez a minimum of 8, but I think you're close enough.

Out of ideas.

Actually... it could be the PSU. If you're handy with a multimeter, this is a good way to use it ;)
