Quick question. So my computer in signature died with error code which appears to be either mobo or ram. I'm pretty sure the problem is a dead memory controller.

To rule out my DDR2 pc6400 memory from being a problem would it hurt my computer or my friend's ram if I tried his PDP Systems 512 mb sticks DDR1 pc3200 in my computer?
 
DDR2 and DDR1 are completely incompatible.

So you can't test your system with DDR1 RAM and your friend's system with DDR2 RAM or vice versa.
