As the title states, I am having trouble with one box in my farm. It's a AMD San Diego 4600+ , Epox 9nda+ Ultra (NF 4 Chipset) 1 gb Geil Ultra X ram, Artic 64 Freezer cooler, used for nothing but a folding box. The CPU is tacked @ 100% via F@H working on WU p2124_lambda_5way_melt GROMACS core. It has been saying it's going to take 416 days to finish. Never gets any frames completed. I re-installed F@H but it keeps giving me this same WU. Not sure if it's the box or the WU is really that insane.
Please let me know if you need any other information as I have never had to trouble shoot F@H before. Thanks in advance edit - I am going to be changing all my farm to console version, have been lazy. I think I need to remove all instances of F@H first correct? It's not mentioned in the setup if moving from Graph version to console.

P2124s take me about 5 days to finish on any of my AMD or Intel machines. They don't give too much in points (396? IIRC) but they take a long time to finish.

But yours is not finishing any parts of the WU? No progress at all?

How about posting your config file or log file?

Fender, until it actually finishes a frame it is just estimating the time, it also say's 17m some seconds per frame so leave it for an hour and check back it should be considerably under 416 days.:)

Not really sure what logs you wanted, it now says estimated 2/20000

its zipped up Logs

If you use the box for nothing but folding then it should be optimized to do the most work for stanford (and therefor also return you the most points). Set this box up as an SMP folder. You will free up the windows license that it is currently using by running Linux (instructions so easy any noob can do it at the end of tis post). SMP returns work units back to Stanford in less than 1 day (Stanford like that and gives you a bonus for it). You will get at least double the points per day of the 2 regular console versions.

well... about once a month, my boss uses it to browse the net for an hour so another OS is out of the question :(

Browsing the net is no different with Linux than Microsoft. Just click the browser (Firefox) button and you are on the net.

This would be a good idea. Also tell him that it will allow him to download more pr0n since it's running Linux and most of the crap that attacks your machine from pr0n only affects Windows. :D :p

Not that its say "different" he's old school and doesn't know anything about computers, like to click around on everything etc. Its for my own good too I think.

you could always pick up an external hd and install Linux and the smp client on that
