Trending... down?!

I've had the 980 going since the mid to 3rd week in October and it has yet to see even one -bigadv unit come to it. Not sure what gives. I realize they're few and far between but others are getting them.
Check your client config. You should have had something in that time. That's more than a two week stretch.

I had been looking into it as it really didn't make sense. However I apparently fell into the same "trap" as others and when configuring the client. I said yes to running the adv methods and that somehow breaks the client to where it will not deliver a bigadv unit despite the -bigadv flag being set. So yesterday I found the posts about the advmethods setting and reconfig'd the client with that off and guess what showed up.

Thanks for the effort, as it was correct.

I have my system set to run -advmethods by default and it doesn't appear to have affected me as my system seems to draw the same proportion of bigadv as others. However I havn't drawn a bigadv in a few days now as there must be a shortage. eVGA I noticed has spiked huge again.

I picked up a 2864 that completed today, ran a couple A3's and then picked up a 2686 that I'm crunching now. Not sure if there is truely a shortage...dunno, I might just be lucky for a change. :)

It looks like I just picked up a 2684. I'll take it as it still beats the regular stuff.

Right before this drought, both folding 1 and 2 managed to pick up a string of straight 2692's, 2686's, and so on.

Here were the two threads I found.

The box I'm running them on is new and the Folding client was the latest/greatest version straight off their website installed in a fresh install of Win7 (64). Not sure if that's a difference or not. But once I went back into -configonly and said no to advmethods and restarted the client I had a bigadv inside 24 hours as opposed to the several weeks it wouldn't download one.

Same here, I tried at first with -advmethods and -bigadv together. Never received a bigadv unit till I removed the advmethods flag. After that, I got a few (right now on the 4th or 5th bigadv).

Someone mentionned that bigadv and advmethods are mutually exclusive with advmethods taking precedence usually. bigadv include advmethods as well.

yeah you cant have the advmethod flag. but inside the config theres an option for advanced method WU's. advanced method flag doesnt matter anyways since there hasnt been a beta(advmethod) SMP WU in almost 4 months.

Stay tuned.. *whistles innocently*

great more WU's to kill my PPD ;) god i hope this means they are finally replacing the 6701/2 WU's. seriously ready to effing kill some one and no killing people in BFBC2 isnt helping that urge.

Awesome! I am scared of using credit so I tend to stay away from it. I had no idea that Newegg was offering 12 months no interest though.

you would know. I hear Tuesday is Tobit's only day off.

I don't even want to know what kind of acts you SR2 owners did..........
