Fro some unknown reason I can no linger open links in my e-maiul messages anymore. Each time I try to open an attechment I keep getting that error reading:

"This file does not have a progrem associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Association Control panel"

When I go into the Control Panel, I can't find anything that resolves this. I am runnung Windows Vista. I had this problem before a very long time ago, but I cant remember what I did to resolve it.

Can anyone assist?

I remember this was an issue with Chrome being installed and then removed...the app association for html wasn't correct.
Did you do something with Chrome recently?
I think the fix was the default app for internet links...if its IE now, change it to something, then change it back

Which types of attachments? If we're talking about PDF files then a simple adobe uninstall-reinstall will do.

I did reciently remove Chrome from my computer. I did as you advised and then changed it to bing, and the problem is still there :(

I would try reinstalling Chrome, seeing if the links now work (they should) then set the default browser back to IE, reboot, check links now, then remove Chrome.
