I have a Raid-0 in my old Gigabyte Mobo... that mobo has now died and I have since created a new computer with an Asus Mobo. Is there anything special I need to do to transfer my Raid-0 array to my new mobo and retain ALL FILES within the array?
My experiences moving raid setups between Intel motherboards has been extremely good.
That is assuming that you are currently using the Intel ICH9R on your P35 (Not the Gigabyte aka JMicron controller), and you are planning on using the Intel ports on your new board also (Not the Marvell 6gb ports). Moving a raid setup from one Intel controller to another Intel controller generally works fine.
As I just mentioned elsewhere this morning, if you end up having issues transferring drives to a new mobo then give GetDataBack plus their Raid Recovery add-on a try. It essentially creates a software raid bridge for GDB to use and is non-destructive. If you have any reservations I'd suggest this combo before trying to RAID the drives on your new mobo.
I have stopped using RAID some time ago, but when I wasn't sure yet is when I bought the same mobo as you, P35-DS3P, so what I did is that I bought two ! And made two computers with them.
Very useful when I had doubts about my hardware, I could swap everything. Would have helped for this situation, too.
