yeah that looks like a hardfolding blip

the good news is, according to EOC, you appear to be set up correctly.

Double check to make sure your i7 and i5 systems are using 100% CPU. If they are, you should see a nice points boost once you achieve 10 successful work units and start earning bonus points.

okay sweet, EOC looks a little better. Didn't think my output would be this low, but maybe its just because I'm not getting bonus yet. My CPU's are maxed 100%, but my GPU is only running around 40%, though i'm folding on each GPU core. Any idea what an average gamer's desktop PPD would be around?

PPD can vary wildly depending on a few factors. The work unit being crunched is a main factor. So, all these numbers are approximations.

a 4ghz i7 should produce around 20k PPD

a 5970 should produce around 8k PPD on each GPU, so 16k combined

I have an i5 2400 and it produces around 10k PPD

The PS3 is only good for about 1k PPD unfortunately.

One thing to watch out for: your AMD GPUs need a fair amount of CPU horsepower just to run. So, it's possible your CPU client and your GPU clients are fighting for CPU cycles. Unless you're cold and need extra heat, I would probably recommend leaving your GPU idle and just let the i7 930 have full use of your CPU.

How did you set your clients up? did you set the i7 930 for bigadv units?

Depends, My gaming rig can get 20k PPD, Thats an X6 and a 460, but if i fill all the PCIe slots i can get 41k, an average i7 gets about 18k on regular SMP and about 22-25k PPD on -bigadv. Around here the gaming rig is usually the slowest machine in the house - i know mine is:D

Your issue will be the 5970 - if you are not using the v7 client you will not be getting many pioints from it, if you are using v6 it is better to shut down the GPU and jkust fold on the CPU's. ATi's are not good for folding at the moment, the v7 client and core16 will fix that over the next few months but right now i'd recommend CPU only

I do have the v7 client running the GPU's and the SMP client running on the CPU. I agree that they are probably fighting for the CPU cycles, so I will shut down the GPU client until it's faster for AMD.

Good news about the PS3, cause it's just loud and hot now, haha. That's gonna get shut down!

Im not sure if i set it for bigadv or not, i'll check tonight when I get home.

But so far, im not reaching anywhere I should be. After 3 days im around 3500 points total

give it time. the bonus points make a huge difference.

The SMP bonus only kicks in after you have completed 10 SMP WU with your passkey, PS3 and GPU wu do not count. Passkey in can be found here:- Passkey info

Don't worry, we'll get you sorted - in the meantime the science is still getting done - fold on!!
