Well, I took your advice, and moved the HDD's to the spare drive bays, and removed one DVD burner I wasn't using anyway. I also got a new PSU because that one was pretty much DOA, and luck would have it me getting a 'defective' 850 with 6 pcie cables. I tucked the cables around where I could, and now, shabaam:

Still not perfect, but that is about as much as I can do without a dremel. Those fan cables sneaking out on the right go tot he fans on my case side panel. CPU temp stayed about the same, but boy o', my GPU temps dropped 7-10C across the board!

You might loose another degree or two by cleaning your front intake fan. Just have the blades clean makes a huge difference in airflow.

so what did you do to fit the hdd's into the 5.25" slots? did you just get 5.25" enclosures to hold them there or did the case already come with something to fit them in the slots? debating on doing this with one of my cases but cant figure out a way to make them fit nor want to waste 20 bucks and enclosure for 6 hard drives..

I got those startech brackets. They work really well but are overpriced on most sites. I got them mine from PC Connection Express. Never heard of the site before, but they came pretty damned fast and in good shape. If you are going to mount 6 HDD's you might want to look at some bay mounted backplane options.

This sucker holds 5 This one holds 3. I was going to get the 3 drive backplane but I just don't have the cash to blow right now so I went the bracket route.

when i needed an extra drive in my dell, i did this...it definitely could've been prettier, but probably not cheaper, or faster.

2x 5cm 6-32 machine screws, a spacer, nut, and couple of washers. regular stubby hdd screws on the other side.

cool thanks for the link on the brackets.. i think im going to try a couple more times to find a way to do it with out buying anything before i give up and buy those brackets.. ya i know im being cheap..

also thanks for that idea absolute zero.. because i just happen to have all that stuff laying around my closet including the spacers for some odd reason..
