This morning I ordered my upgrade.

Core i7 5820k
Gigabyte GA-X99-UD5 Wi-Fi
Crucial 16gb DDR4 2133 kit (went a bit cheap here)
EVGA GTX970 04G-P4-0974-KR (1317 mhz boost)

Carrying over my case, cooling, psu (it's less than a year old anyway) and my drives. Anything I need to know moving from Lynnfield to Haswell-E for overclocking? I currently have an 875k and overclocking it to 4.2ghz was cake.

What are you using for cooling? That will impact how far you could go.

The i7-5820K only has 28 PCI-E 3.0 lanes, which essentially limits you for SLI or CrossFire performance. But unless you're planning a four-card setup in the near future, you may not be affected.

I have a Corsair H100 cooling, Corsair 600T case and a Corsair TX850 power supply. Gee I sounds like a Corsair fanboy at the moment. LOL

I have no plans to go SLI. Been there before. Used to run GTX275's in SLI and while I'm sure it's better now, I have a sour taste from that.
