This is what I ordered today from Newegg.
I have an excellent Atx case from current pc. also have a 550watt Antec. PS.
I have the xi-fi music sound card. from Creative.
For hard drive I have a 320 gig Seagate with 16meg cache. ESATA. with the perpendicular tech. I also have 2 regular ultra ata hd's And Dvd+/-RW drive and a dvd-rom drive.
I Am currently running this setup.
Athlon 64-3000 Socket 939.
Gigabyte Motherboard.
2gig Dual channel ram. On those selfsame ata hard drives.
BFG 6800gt. 3dcard.
In your guys expert opinions how much of a performance improvement will I see with the new setup.. I will also order a better fan then the retail stock one. What fan would you recommend within reason? I am tryin to save enough money.. so once the new g880s from Nvidia are released.. then I will consider based on reviews and cost wether to replace the cheep 88 dollar 7600 I will be using for now.
As far as the games I play... WOW,Titan Quest.GuildWars:NF. Warhammerark Crusade. Half-life2,Quake4.
IS there anything else you would suggest I do.. system wise to this setup. And is overclocking Somethign that you think I really should do? or is the performance as it is would that be fine for now? Thanks for the future Assistance.
Oh and the reasons I took the plunge.. I do love Amd. The cost of this Setup came down to it was very close to an am2 setup.. and From what I do know and from experience I have had with the Core2duos at work.. they are faster. I am not focused on only one brand of processor. And I had ordered a 7600 gt for my Agp setup.. and the company I ordered from sent me an email that they would be refunding my purchase because they couldn't get the card in stock. So looking at the fact I could spend.. 400 more and actually upgrade pretty much everything.. I decided to get it.
