It seems so. But this is nothing new for xoleras. I've not been here long, but I noticed he has a history of shooting quick without proof or just claiming things that are plain wrong. Most of these threads he starts are anti-NV although the disguise is good at times. Personally, he lost all credibility and claims of neutrality with me.
 
I gave up on toms long ago. Probably around 9 years ago.

They are too biased and have no idea how to benchmark.

You have to keep at least one thing constant for a subjective review. At [H] it's 'Playable', although the resolution is kept consistent between equivalent tests. Sure thats subjective, but a lot of people like them. I don't care if a video card upgrade will push my fps from 60 to 120 but i do care if it will let me increase AA or other quality settings, that provides more value to me than a bar graph.
[H] do know what they are doing when it comes to gpu reviews, when they made that change a few years back it's because they didn't just look at what they were doing, but why.
If that's not your thing, thats cool but it doesn't make those of us who like the [H] style 'wrong'.
 
How the hell do I know what the difference between running a game on medium with 4xAA is compared to running a game on high with 2xAA? As awful as THG is, HardOCP GPU reviews are the #1 worst on the web. You can't even compare things with them! It's like trying to do a comparison review with two cars on completely different courses/tracks. WTF good is that? Other sites test multiple resolutions at the same settings so you can actually compare not just card to card, but also the affect of different resolutions/settings between cards. Anything other than that is a joke.

Respectfully, I suggest sharpening your reading comprehension skills. Every review here has a section for "highest playable" and then "apples to apples". If you don't like Highest playable (I do) then skip to the apples to apples section.

How on Earth can you be that clueless and yet have been here for almost 8 years? :confused:
 
I am failing to see how Edge AA is an AMD only setting or where it shows the setting is not being applied to Nvidia.

I like Toms Hardware. They do a lot of non basic type benchmarks, like how SSD performance effects gaming and how games scale to CPU cores etc. Those types of reviews are rare and are really informational. I like how [H] does their reviews to. You see what card is truly faster in real world settings with tweaks you would apply as a gamer.

I never make a decision off just what one site says though.
 
I'm totally 100% confident that those boys at Tom's know way more than I do about this stuff, and as such am comfortable taking their advice.
 
All the world's a critic these days. I find that most of my problems with mainstream or professional IT journalism is that you have so many people spend about 10 minutes with something and then profess some great knowledge for all the world to see. These people aren't stupid but you really have to live and breath specific things these days. It you aren't constantly gaming, playing with video cards and drivers and overclocking, you simply can't know your stuff. Hooking up some video cards on a test bench and then running canned benchmarks, no, you can't really know the craft. Again, I do give credit to [H] for understanding that you actually have to do this stuff, do it for a long time repeatedly and that you have to a passion for it. That's what makes the difference. When you love what you're doing, you become very good at as opposed to playing with something for 10 minutes and then on to the next thing.
 
It would be nice if the OP would have the courage and decency to present proof for his claims. Still nothing...
