Hello,
I picked up 2 sticks of corsair cmx10244300c2pt or "xms3200cl2". I can't seem to get my gigabyte k8nf to take it at cl2 though.. here's what I can manage (snips from output from an old copy of sandra):
Benchmark Results
RAM Bandwidth Int Buff'd iSSE2 : 5763 MB/s
RAM Bandwidth Float Buff'd iSSE2 : 5700 MB/s
Results Interpretation : Higher index values are better.
Logical/Chipset 1 Memory Banks
Bank 0 : 1GB DDR-SDRAM 2.5-3-3-8 2CMD
Bank 1 : 1GB DDR-SDRAM 2.5-3-3-8 2CMD
Channels : 1
Bank Interleave : 2-way
Speed : 2x 201MHz (402MHz data rate)
Width : 128-bit
Maximum Memory Bus Bandwidth : 6432MB/s (estimated)
I did some digging around and am having trouble finding recommended settings. The page from the online store I bought from (dabs.com) says:
"This memory has been verified to operate at 200 MHz (DDR400) at aggressive latencies of 2-3-3-6"
I'm not sure exactly which those 4 listed numbers correspond to?
Thanks in advance if you're able to help!
In case it matters, my board shows up with a 201 FSB when I run wcpuid. I recall an old G-byte board doing that years ago, at the time folks said that was a benchmark cheat to score slightly above competition... still true? Never true?
