how many points are these typically worth and how fast would a 2.8ghz P4 machine with 256mb of ram crunch through them?

Also, how would i setup the machine to get them?
 
when you first setup the client, if you choose "no deadline" units, you'll get the timeless tinkers.......

you can look here to see how much they're worth...... just look for the ones that have "--" in the deadline column.... there's a wide variety of point values....

The timeless tinkers I have seen lately have been between 239 and 249 points. There are others out there but I haven't seen them in a while.

A P4 2.8 is the benchmark system that Stanford uses if I remember correctly. In that case I think they have the point system setup where the P4 2.8 gets either 100 or 110 points per day on all regular proteins. That is with the system runniing 24/7 with nothing else running for the most part.

If the machine is used for something, regular units including timeless tinkers would be the best choice. I would probably run regular units on it if it has a regular internet connection. If it doesn't have a regular connection, run timeless tinkers and have the client queue them up by choosing the option to cache units to minimize networking. It will downloard ten timeless tinkers to run one after the other. I have this running on a few systems that don't have regular internet connections so the systems always have something to do.
