Ok so right now, i've got a 17" CRT flat screen. Not bad, it can support some great graphics, but it takes up half my desk. It's just not made for my curent setup. I've got my keyboard hanging half way off my desk, while i've got my gaming pad, mouse, cell phone, ipod, and all that other crap in easy to reach places on my well keyboard tray. LoL, i know it sounds kinda wierd, but my main use of this computer is gaming, so that's what I got it set up for. Now I'd just like to use my desk for some actual work as well. But anyway, I'm looking at something below $400. I've been lookin around on newegg quite a bit lately. Here is what I want. 19" LCD with DVI-D in, 1280x1084 resoluion, and something with at least 600:1 contrast rati, I'd also prefer it to be black, but silver/grey isn't bad either. Right now i've cornered it down to is an Advueu, http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=24-180-013&depa=1. Or one by Rosewill, I'm somewhat fond of Rosewill products, cheap yet durable as long as you don't abuse them, http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=24-021-003&depa=1.

Which one would you guys prefer, or if you have any other suggestions, let me know. I'm definatly willing to go bigger as well, just as long as it's not over $400.

i'm just gonna tag this. i love my 19" CRT, but i'm starting to notice the text blurring somewhat...and that $400 limit sounds about right.

If you are going to be doing a lot of gaming, you need to get a LCD that has atleast a Response rate or 16ms with 12 being preferable. Both the screens you picked are 25ms. I had a really nice Sony 20" LCD with a 25ms response rate. It was excellent for everything except gaming. FPS's looked horrible. I only kept the screen for 2 months before I sold it in disgust. I bought a Dell 20" for almost half the price of the sony with a 16ms response. The difference is night and day.

IMO play the Dellf game until you get a 25% of any LCD and see if you can get one for under $400 with the discount.

I highly recommend the BenQ F931 I picked one up in september and have been incredibly happy. Beats the socks off my very old sony G420. Great response time, low price, high res, been very happy with it.
