I've had my current computer (minus a few minor upgrades) for nearly 4 years now. Its about time for an upgrade! I haven't been keeping up with the current trends in hardware, so I decided to fill out one of these nifty questionnaires. Thanks in advance for the help.
1) What will you be doing with this PC?
Primarily gaming with the occasional venture into almost everything else.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
Roughly $1000, im not too picky on the exact price, just somewhere in that general vicinity. (Read: don't be afraid to suggest higher price if it offers a significant performance gain)
3) Where do you live?
Alabama, USA
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget?
CPU, Motherboard, RAM, GPU(s) (must have eyefinity or equivalent capability), SSD, PSU
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing?
Case (Lian-Li PC-A05B), Sound Card (EMU 1212M), DVD Burner, Storage HDD's (320GB internal, 1TB external USB)
6) Will you be overclocking?
Only if it offers a significant gain for very low risk (for example, I have had my E6750 running at 3.2Ghz for 3.5 years with 0 stability issues)
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
3x 23" LCDs
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Anytime in the next few weeks to few months. I am not in a rush, and am willing to wait if there is going to be some epic new product available in the near future.
9) What features do you need in a motherboard?
Nothing in particular. Multi-GPU support would be nice for future-proofing.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license?
Windows 7 Home Premium 64
