What's the usual time scale for these things? I'm got a budget for about 200$, could pick up a a 970 now, but would rather just wait an get a 6gb 1060 to be a lil more future proof. How long do you guys think I'll need to wait until I can pick up one in that price range (new or used)? I'm sitting on a 560ti now, it's showing it's signs, but I also have an xbox and borrow a roomates gamefly sub which he never uses so I am in no hurry to need new hardware to play the latest games.

If your budget is really just 200 bucks you could look into getting a RX480 as well if your reason to wait on the 1060 6GB is future proofing. I am just thinking about the extra 2GB of VRAM you'd be getting. I see deals on those cards pretty frequently that put them ~200 bucks. Same goes for the 1060 6GB really, but the RX480 I see get down that far more often.

Here is a 1060 6GB right now for a smidge over 200. Buildapcsales is where my wallet goes to cry

Give this guy a cookie! After tax (assuming i get rebate) it's 220, but I can stomach the extra 20 hah.
