Thoughts on this build I just ordered?

Cancel the RAM immediately: It's rated well above the 1.5V voltage limit for Intel CPUs. Any higher than 1.5V and you risk damage to the CPU. In addition, unless you're chasing synthetic benchmark scores, you won't notice an iota of difference between DDR3 2133 and DDR3 1333 RAM when it comes to real world performance. So in other words, find RAM rated at 1.5V and DDR3 1333 or DDR3 1600 speeds and you'll be ok.

Also, please answer the stickied "ANSWER THSE QUESTIONS FIRST!" so that we can help you better. Though off the bat, that setup seems overly expensive.

You bought a new pc and purchased a usb 3.0 addon card? What for?

This looks like a custom prebuilt pc. Where did you order from?

The Intel 520 SSD is fine, I would have opted for the128GB Samsung 830 instead. I'm still a little weary of Sandforce drives, but this one has Intel's backing which is a plus. I recently had two older SF drives that went belly up (2x120GB Vertex 2's).

I wanted more USB 3.0 slots for the future :)

Yeah it's custom built from pcspecialist.co.uk

I've changed the ram to 1333mhz ddr3 Samsung sticks instead which are rated at 1.35v instead.

Moiee,

Also, there is absolutely no need for that PCI-e USB 3.0 expansion card in that system, especially since the motherboard that's on that list already has four USB 3.0 ports built in plus a USB 3.0 header (to which the case's two front USB 3.0 ports are likely to be plugged into). Thus, you have six USB 3.0 ports on that system right off the bat even without the add-in card.

Definitely agree about the USB expansion being unnecessary - your money would've been better put towards a decent CPU cooler. Especially since you're getting an unlocked processor (assuming you'll be overclocking)

At least, the Z77 series motherboards and the "k" unlocked processors are well recepted.
