Still waiting on 6800 GT and Ultra PCI-Express cards to ship. My SLI MB just shipped and I don't have graphics cards for it. For cards released like half a year ago this is sad. Does anyone have any links to any sites that have or have posted even close timeframes for shipping 6800 GT's or Ultras PCI-E? I just can't believe i'll be running a killer system with a regular PCI piece of crap graphics cards till I get my SLI graphics cards.
 
Availability of high-end PCI-e video cards is a sad joke. :(

Only thing to SLI out there is the 6600 GT PCI-e.

they can't even get out enuff AGP cards(ATI) and they just recently met the demand from consumers for high end vcards(IMO since im see the availiability of all nvidia cards now). don't expect a big flow of pci-e high end cards to come flowing in fast. the only card i see that is pci-e is that is easy to get and priced reasonably is the 6600GT for high end part of vcards.

Thats fine...the 6800 series is crap, and ATI just can't get their shit together with regards to pricing or AGP supply...

This means...

None of them get my business this go-around.

And I am sure I'm not the only one.

my point is a supply and demand lesson for you. cards are shipping so you claim of 5 months is as unfonded as your incesent whinning.


i dont work at mickey D's and i managed to scrape up 600 bucks for 1 video card what makes you think i cant come up with $800 for two. if SLI was anything more than overprice hype with real wold value i might think about it.

I completely agree.. I had assumed that PCI-e chipsets for the A64's would have been AVAILABLE in october, i.e. people could actually buy the stuff. It seems that the mobo/ vid card industry took over the nasty paper launch habit that AMD and Intel finally got rid of. At this point, I have waited sooo long for a PCIe board, that I finally broke and got myself a 6800 AGP card. Now I am not going to upgrade to an A64-PCIe system for a bit. My AXP must hold me over for a while longer.... :/

Actually, the above idea to SLI the standard 6800s is a good one. If you can get them with the SLI connector, you could try to unlock the extra pipes and see what you get. It would probably rock.

What I don't know is, can you get standard 6800 cards that are SLI capable?
 
It would be really intresting to see how sli,ed 6800NU's stacked up against 6600GT's :) And nice to see the OVER CAFFINATED BUNCH :p Highjacking threads as always :mad:
