you say i will get 10-20 fps on a 9600xt and I get the same fucking thing on a $400 card which is supposed to be 2x more powerfull.

does that make sense to you,

edit: AND i just noticed that you only have 512mb of ram. your ram is bottlenecking your system at high resolutions.
 
This is how I see this. Some kid bought a new x850xt and it completely destroyed his old 9600xt. So he comes on to hard forums still at awe with its performance and does a little attention getting saying it sux and shit, then (usually) they will say HAHA I got you somewhere down the road when this thread hits about 300 posts..Its a dead fact that you can't play a game decently below 30fps, also a fact that a x850xt can absolutely obliterate a 9600xt...If he is really serious about this then he would send it back instead of making a thread labelled "this is going back". I call phony twice.

I doubt I am in awe, this is the biggest disapointment i have ever had when buying a pc part.


and I have 1gb of memory now.
 
Oh, btw...you do need a RAM upgrade and probably a CPU upgrade. Try some Halflife 2 benchmarks on 1600x1200 4x aa, 8x af, if you're x850xt is stilling getting 10-20 fps you have a messed up x850 or you're ram/cpu suck too much.

Well I couldn't resist. Here is my X850XT, at 1600 x 1200 max everything, in a similar spot as to where you took yours. And it actually looks like AA is working in my case. So whatever. And yeah, I can confirm that the framerate cuts about in half if I turn around and face the trees and bushes.

So I don't know what you're doing. Or what you want to hear. But there it is, 45 fps as opposed to 11, with the same card. I call BS.

I have never had an awe factor when i got the card. at first I noticed the games played with a few more fps so i thought il try it out, then i got more memory but nothing really change.

in my case the x850 has been no greater than the 9600xt. maybe my card is crippled or somthing, but there is not this awe factor that you guys are talking about.

no.. cuz if you can see the 3dmark05 score of x850xt is about right..
 
meh... unfortunately i don't have an X850XT, and imo 3DMark is just an ego trip. But yeah, comments about his CPU and RAM are right, thinking you can run an X850XT at full speed with that shit is insane. And he's probably stuck it in the PCI slot or something
 
Now I don't know what to believe from him.
Listen duder, if you want some help, tell us whats really going on. Otherwise return the card and go back to your 9600 and leave us the hell alone.

Judging by how things are progressing, I doubt anything is wrong with his PC or GPU, he is just being a troll. You know, Data, you don't get points to upgrade your "rank" for posting a thread that gets feedback. You should've got the boot from stereotyping europeans, the british, calling people girls, being a troll, and posting literally nothing about the subject at hand. What's wrong, is it hot to touch? Did you check your drivers? Is there conflicts? Your just not giving info, its not even worth it to start something like this.

not really busted, i said that before i dedcided to reinstall my 9600xt and see what the real differnce is,. untill i found out there is none. I really dont loive this card and cant wait to go to circuit city tommrow and get it returned.

My 6600GT Leadtek card, which is better than the original poster's card, Cannot play Far Cry at the highest setting, so this guy is just plain lying or has had one to many drinks. He probably does not know the meaning of Highest Settings in a game.

And for the record, FarCry @ 16x12 4x/8x on a 9600XT gets ~ 1FPS.

Like what? I/O during gaming is so low that you could be running on a 4200RPM laptop drive and not notice the difference.
