Thinking of Overclocking

I'm thinking of overclocking my current rig (See signature)

I've never overclocked before and all the articles I've read about overclocking my current CPU have been done using the ASUS version of my motherboard.

Does anyone have any suggestions on overclocking for my CPU based on my motherboard and has [H] ever done any CPU overclocking tests using the motherboard I currently have?

I would love some knowledgeable insight and suggestions before I actually do any overclocking. My rig is Air Cooled, so please keep that in mind.

The principles of overclocking are essentially the same regardless of the board manufacturer. [H] did review your board a while ago and included a bit about overclocking in the article, so you can take a look at that if you'd like. I suggest you also read this thread for some overclocking basics: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1198647

When you say "air cooled" what do you mean? You won't get near your chip's potential with the stock cooler, but any decent aftermarket heatsink should be fine.

All the 680i boards I've tried will easily go up to 450mhz FSB, so with the stock multiplier on your chip, that's 3.6ghz. Now, you might not go that far, but your board will likely not be the weak link. The 680i chipset is very easy to OC. Just tune your FSB speed up, add some CPU voltage, make sure your memory is set at the right speed, and you're golden :)
