Thinking about WoW....

Yup. That's pretty crazy when you put it in hours o_0 Time really flies by when you play this game. I think I've been working on this character for a month/month and a half. Oh, and it's level 45, now, and probably closer to 8 1/2 days now :D
When I hit 60 it was 16 days...thats like 384 hours. o_O

Well, whatever you do, just don't stand around in Ironforge begging for silver when you could be out farming. :)

Truer words have never been spoken.

Jeebus I hate these types of people .... we have enough bums on the streets of our cities, we hardly need them in a virtual world as well.

The worst are the people who see you on a mount and spam you with "I only need 2 gold, or I only need 80 silver. I think a lot of people failed pan-handling 101.

The main reason I do not use most Quests to gain XP is the damn searching. If they put pointers on the minimap to at least get you going in the right direction for the quest locations it would be much better. The majority of the directions you get from the NPC's are nebulas at best. It's usually go kill X number of "___" critters and X number of " ___" critters and return to me. Sometimes these critters are at the other end of the map in a small corner. Too much time wasted looking for a particular MOB IMHO. I have spent way too many hours simply running around asking people for directions to find "X" or "Y" critters in order to complete a quest. Most are far off enough to begin with. I'd be all for a AAA type service to get directions. :). So I usually just take the quest and complete it if I run across that critter, if not I just delete it later when I have moved on. Much easier for me just to find a high density location of decent lvl MOB's and kill 10 or 25 of them in 15 minutes than run all over for hours looking for a quest critter. My2c...

Spam them back with duel challenges. It usually shuts them up pretty fast... ;)

There are actually a very small few quests which do bring up a waypoint when you highlight them in the qust log. But beware .... the one that worked for me was totally wrong anyway.

I usually fully explore a zone first before startign quests, that way I can make MOB map notes and do it easier that way .... but if I run into problems I just use thottbot.com.

EDIT : Evil scooter .... yeah if they ask me I usually just type the nastiest comment I can telling them to make their own money .. if they persist I spam trade requests on them.

I like exploring also and usually scout the new terrortories out in advance also. It is a great way to find ore deposits for my mining skill. But some areas are too darn Hot at the start to just go tooling around.

As for the beggers, usually /rude is enough to get my message across. Or just tell them to use their paper money and go Egay some gold if they need it that badly. Duel challenges are a last resort for me.

Yeah, thottbot and cosmos do the trick for vague directions. Alt+tab outta wow, look up the quest on Thottbot then /tloc x , y and make a note on your map of the destination.

I find that Thottbot has a nasty tendency to be either down, buggy, or very slow when I need to use it the most.

Same with the WoW section of Allakhazam.com

I'm only lvl 15, but i haven't had problems with directions in my quests. just need to read the quest log, does it get worse?

After playing EQ and DAoC, I notice a lot of little things that make the game go smoothly. The sending mail/items/money through a mailbox, the auction house, linking items into the trade channel, etc. The death penalty is small, but i'm still upset when I die, just not pissed off until I make back what i lost.

Even more so with the WoW forums :)

But ya, those sites have a ton of info too. I just wish they were faster.

Welp, I just went ot buy WoW. No one carries it anymore. Of the 3 places I went to no one had it.

Evidently, Blizzard's servers are full so Blizzard has stopped publishing and distributing WoW until they update and expand their servers.

They released a bunch of tehm 2 or 3 weeks ago and haven't released it since. So, looks like I gotta wait to play.

Don't feel bad, even of us already paying have to "wait to play". All servers were down this morning since 4am and were still down at 10:30am. I get dropped and have to log back in at least 2 times an hour every time I play. And get dropped almost every time I complete a quest, even though I have a 21ms ping. I cannot wait until they get their issues sorted out.

I haven't any server problems in a week. No ques either and I play on a High Pop server.

I haven't even been on a week yet, but its been mostly good connections. I got disconnected once but i think thats because i was afk for a few hours and was surfing the internet from another computer.

Moose, where do you live? I'm pretty sure there should still be one copy of WoW at my local walmart. I was really surprised last week when they had 2 on the shelf.

This week in WoW is really testing my patience.

I have been experiencing the game locking up every 15-20 minutes. This never used to happen to me before, and seems to happen more consistently in zones like ferralas(sp?).

I know it is not just on my end, as I was asking around in general chat last night and many other people were experiencing the same problems.

Anyone else getting this ?

There is now a bug in the game that causes the screen to go corrupt and you can't see anything. It happened twice to me and once to my friend yesterday. Also, I did crash twice in Feralas while looting corpses within 10 minutes of eachother.

I am having more and more problems graphic wise and it sucks. I started getting that hardware mouse problem, where the mouse locks and you cant tell where your pointer is so you have to restart your comp.

I also keep running into one certain copper vein on the border of thousand needles and ferralas which sucks =(, especially since I /bugged during beta about that exact vein.

My friend (who got the corrupted screen) has experienced that mouse problem many time. Not so much lately, but he used to get it a few times a day sometimes.

That's the corrupt video screen.

I got that too

Jasonx82 said:
Does the zergling attack well? And do alot of people have zerglings?
Very few people have collector's edition pets. The zergling just follows you around and doesn't do anything. The only pets that seem to really be in demand and are popular are the whelplings.

I'd just like to say that i've had the game for about 10 days and really enjoy it so far. I have only played as one character so far and that's a human warlock i'm like lvl 18 and haven't put a whole lot of time into it.

I had my first crash last night :( FYI, the distance requirement for obtaining your corpse is 3 dimensional, so you can get it from inside a mine when you're outside but above the corpse :)

Ok not getting collectors getting regular version. :(

Good choice .... the only reason to get the collectors is for the extra artwork.

The pets are severly ghey.

Whenever i see one I do

/spit
/point
/laugh

For some reason /teabag is not working for me tho

Is this game rare? seems like some people are having a hard time getting a copy.. ? They had plenty at fry's..
