I just got my p4 3.0 in the mail and it came with Artic Alumina Artic Silver. I dont know much about thermal compound and am wondering if this is a good kind to use or should i go out and get another kind?

its a good compound. i would just use it rather than go out and buy some new stuff.

but if you decide to buy some AS5, u may get 1 or 2 degree difference.

It will do.

If you do any serious OCing then you may want to make the investment in a different compound.

Just use a small drop of ASAA on cpu, then install heatsink, let the pressure of clips make the spread work, you´ll be OK

Good Luck

Ive tried AS3,5 and Ceramique on my CPU and GPU. At best 2-3c temp differance. I go with the big C due to non conductive qualities.
