"The Time" app for Windows 8 is causing memory bloat

Just an FYI, I know many people have "The Time" app on their start screen. However, there's a bug in the app that causes a process in task manager called "Runtime Broker" to balloon over 2GB of memory, when it should only be around 5MB.

I uninstalled it for now and emailed the creater of the app to see if he'll fix it.

BTW, it's weird that we even need an app for start menu time. It should be one of those things that should always be displayed at some corner.
 
Was just gonna say, it boggles the mind that we need a third party app for the TIME. Like how the hell does no time on the start screen make it past the legions of designers, focus groups, beta testers,

Installed this thing today actually, getting rid of it now thanks for the tip buddy
 
UPDATE:

I received a response from the creator of the app. He said that it's actually a bug on Microsoft's end, and that he wrote a work-around for it and submitted a new version of the app to Microsoft already. It typically takes 5-7 days before the update goes live.

I look forward to installing it again. It wasn't an app that I "wanted" to uninstall.

Fair enough, I'd not seen this one until this thread but you have some temporary options until this one gets fixed. At least as the tile time goes many of there tile clocks do roughly the same thing. Bitmap Live Tile Clock is pretty cool.
 
I don't get the need for a time app / live tile. I mean, the clock and date is right there in the corner of the screen after one swipe.

I guess it's just something that we're used to. I don't understand why there isn't an option to display the date and time on the Start Screen, there is plenty of room for it and it wouldn't affect anything else.
