In this thread, we list the projects with a [H]ard|OCP presence, the official name for that team and team number if applicable, and the team founder/captain. Going forward, it is preferred that all new teams be announced here before creation, and teams be named [H]ard|OCP to prevent multiple teams from being created in a project and to simplify searching. This list will be updated to remain as current and accurate as possible.

For further information on each project and it's goals, there is the list maintained by BOINC for many BOINC based projects.
This is a more comprehensive list compiled on Wikipedia.
There is also TeAm AnandTech's list of projects which also contains many completed or abandoned projects.
Here's another listing of BOINC based projects hosted by www.boinc-halle-saale.de. Includes brief descriptions and links.
Here is a list of published results from 16 BOINC based projects, though it is not complete.

I'll submit it when I have a couple to send. It's all manually done so I don't want to bombard them. Besides, they don't usually add one member teams.

Edit: And I'm in for a unit or two... Or 6, they must not be too big. :D

Updated the DC Projects Spreadsheet with all the latest adds and info as of 8 PM tonight. Nice job getting all the new teams added.

The link for the spreadsheet is a perma-link and will remain constant, so those that want to bookmark it and have access to the latest info to keep locally at their disposal may do so. It currently contains links to all the project sites and I have added several of the "team" sites as well. This will be an ongoing effort. January is a really buasy month for me at work so I'll keep it updated as I can. Eventually we'll have it all up to date and it should make a decent reference.

Nice work heading this up Alan.

I have a question regarding posting threads about projects other than F@H and WCG. I noticed in the past that teams sometimes have conventions to identify what DC project a thread's topic concerns in order to quickly distinguish it to team members and make it easier to conduct forum searches. Usually, these teams have a large involvement in a number of projects. Should we adopt such conventions or just assume a laissez-faire approach as usual? It's still extremely early to start thinking about this, but I will soon try out a few projects I have in mind and just thought I'd ask to see what everyone thinks.

That's a good question to think about going forward, but I'm not sure if anything requires its own thread just yet. For now, it should be ok keeping it to this thread about what all we have going, and the other thread discussing our DC-Vault standing.

Plus, for most of these projects, installing BOINC, signing up for a project, and attaching BOINC to that project is identical from project to project. The projects web sites are pretty much cut and paste, and BOINC gives you a nice menu of possible projects to attach.

Dang you! Soon as I think I'm almost caught up with updates you hit it again.. :mad::D

The latest update has most of the new teams in except for a couple of this last batch. Most of the "team pages" are in and I'm getting a good majority of the supported OS's filled in.

I couldn't find a link to Cells@home for their main page if anyone has it. Also keep an eye out in the listing for any errors. I'm trying to check all the links I've gathered but I'll probably bork a few. If you find any errors or updates just shout.

That's very good to know and it must have taken quite a bit of work looking at all these projects. I see that we now have a team presence in the projects I'm thinking of participating in. Looks like Razor will be up for next month's nomination... :cool:

I think you may be right - I'll look into it tomorrow after my new 750W PSU get here and I can actually run the BOINC client (and others, in this case) without problems... Had to pop in my old 300W Antec just to get me through for surfing & newegg ordering at home, and managed to keep one 9600 folding, but that's it for my main machine... By tomorrow evening, I'll have the second 9600 back up, my OC back to 3.2 (from 1.8 - ouch!), and finally be able to get BOINC going at home with more than WCG - it'll be good to add some order to my DC chaos...

Oh, and add EulerNet to Razor list of non-BOINC/separate clients. I may go ahead and fire up an old AMD processor to play with all of these other math projects with separate clients next weekend when I have more time off of work. I'll keep everyone posted as I find out more with these...

Why all the non DC-Vault projects you might ask? The projects listed in the DC-Vault are ever changing. If a project gets added at a later date, it helps our status to already have a presence in that project. I found a large project list here from TeAm AnandTech that I'm looking into a couple at a time.
 
I'm in... although I would prefer something more along the lines of Tamales@Home, but there doesn't seem to be such a project just yet....

Maybe we should put some thought into starting a new project on our own......;)

Anyhow, I'll bring the beer... I guess you got the pizza?

I don't think members are holding us back anywhere right now with myself and Razor_FX_II on everything and nomad8u, Jathanis and tr0ach (still don't know who you are, come by and say hi!) on multiple projects. Everything I've submitted to date has been added except for Proteins@Home, and that's because we have no credit because there's no work. So everything that's listed "Team established, waiting to add" SHOULD go through. So I guess all I can say now is use your own criteria where you should point your boxen. Science you're interested in, lowest ranking team, figuring out how to get an invite for malariacontrol.net, etc. Though I do see big jumps in points day to day in SHA-1, POEM, and Spinhenge, so those are good places to make some noise right now.

Also note, SIMAP and proteins@home are out of work until after the new year, and lhc@home and some others that slip my mind right now get work quite sporadically, RND only has Linux work right now, and malariacontrol.net is by invite only.

The spreadsheet is updated with all the new adds. I've got "main page links" for all the current projects and "team page links" for most.

If we get around to any serious "raiding parties" with the DC Commandos, I added an additional sheet to the workbook titled "Membership" and moved my tracking crap to a third worksheet. This could be used for consolidating efforts to a few spots at a time. Or not.

If anyone is interested in adding and keeping up with their ongoing efforts in whatever projects to the "Membership" sheet and want it added in to the list just fill it in (if you're just a team member but not active, use code M, if you're active in a project, use code A) and you can email it back to me however often and I'll include it in the spreadsheet. If it's TMI for you, don't feel obligated or if you don't want to be bothered. If you're sending it back to me, send it to (nomad8u@gmaildotcom)

Looks like we're getting quite the list put together. Nice.

It's a matter of when, not if. Getting our DC-Vault page filled out is only step one, not our final destination. Put Ars on notice, the [H]orde cometh!

Why all the non DC-Vault projects you might ask? The projects listed in the DC-Vault are ever changing. If a project gets added at a later date, it helps our status to already have a presence in that project. I found a large project list here from TeAm AnandTech that I'm looking into a couple at a time.

IMO, the more projects the merrier. If we can get a foothold in several additional projects besides F@H and WCG we will be more respected in the DC world at large and no longer known as a 'one-hit' wonder,' so to speak. Thanks for informing us about the lesser known projects out there. I hadn't known the DC Vault projects change that regularly.

I was thinking of posting on one of their perpetual DC Vault threads last week, but my account expired there near the beginning of the decade. It's still a little early, however I might post once we have a larger, more significant presence. They tend to be a very dry bunch, though. Extremely technical and obsessed with charts.

If we get the message out that we are a diversified DC'ing group I [H]ope that it draws more members in to the Fold.

Its not that regular, but it does happen. I wish we could get it to happen faster for GPUGRID though.
