I passed the ARCH exam and got my CCDP. So that makes CCNP and CCDP. Next step is to get in touch with my future manager and figure out if he wants me to pursue CCIE Routing & Switching, or CCIE Security.

I set up a videoconferencing system between Philadelphia and Los Angeles... it isn't much, but its something.

I got an order approved for a buncha badly-needed KVM switches for our imaging lab.
 
didn't happen today, but i put in my resignation last friday. gonna be workin in a 45,000+ user environment in about a week, cant wait :D

oh, and i looked at the cover in of my 70-284 exam book that i shoulda passed over 4 months ago...does that count for anything?
 
virtualized 2 DCs, a TS, and working on a SQL server, getting ready to move some ATM machines tomorrow, looking forwared to that, moving from dialup, to vpn
 
Took the Security+ exam on Wed, only got 652, needed 764 to pass. I'll take it again shortly.
 
Updated firmware on 254 Hitachi 500GB. (For a SAN)

I figure it at about $42,000 in drives and 118TB useable data.
 
I load tested my work's webservers to make sure the developer's code can preform well above what we need it to do. 3,400 dynamic pages rendered pre minute where page rendering time on average is less than a second. Thats good since average peak usage is about 1,600 pageviews per minute.
 
I re-imaged a laptop and performed Enterprise Activation on a Blackberry 7290.

That's it so far.
 
I stayed home with the stomach flu today. I figured I helped my company's IT dept by not spreading my germs.
Although, yesterday I installed half of our cisco wireless setup.
 
Tweaked my spam assassin server, Working on zenworks Imaging. Moved most of the apps on my work computer to a different system since i am finally getting a laptop. (have to have a system to remote into from home). Cleaned my office ( I can see my desk once again)
 
re-imaged a laptop, spent several hours trying to figure out where all our internet bandwidth is going.

We activated our new Internet connection on Monday (3Mb, 2 x T1s), all week we were at 50% utilization, then today we jump up to 96% utilization. Prior to the dual T1s we were maxing out a T1. I haven't been able to figure out where our bandwidth is going. :confused:
 
Spent the first half hour or so working on a laptop that didn't want to let anyone log in, no matter what.

Move on to... absolutely nothing. It's a quiet day in a small company. Relaxing but... you don't learn when you're doing nothing.
 
got chewed out by a doctor because i wouldnt add her new HP PC to the domain after she added norton + mcafee for "added protection" when it arrived to her; crumbled up 2 printouts of the OSI model and threw them across the room after trying to fix what ended up being a doctor kicking the cables under his desk..., found out the guy that has been here for 4 years dropped his 2 weeks today, leaving me.. this is my 4th month..
i DID however add a clock back to a nurse's wyse...she was grateful and told me "i can fix anything.." it made me smile
p.s. position opening in houston area.
 
got FBA on a clients OWA servers working, along with DirectPush for the mobile users.

also got a teminal server to FINALLY joind their damn domain.
 
Spent a (painful) day diagnosing what was wrong with one of our file\application servers (Acer Altos G610) - still have no idea. Oh well, replaced it with our much more reliable Acer Altos 600, even if it is a bit older.

The (new?) server now has 1GIG of ram, 4x SCSI hdds (assorted capacity in RAID 5), 1x 200G PATA hdd, 1x 80G PATA hdd and 2x 933Mhz CPUs. :cool:
 
Well, I haven't done much today since it's 8am, but yesterday I got aggravated because while I was at school one of my teachers had me help her on the computer and she doesn't take instruction well. Then on the way home I tried to get my Cingular 8125 to connect to my TS at home through MediaNET and gave up shortly. When I arrived at home I saw my two new 1U servers had arrived, which will be Exchange Frontends and Webservers. One setup in a second, but the other I reinstalled everything 5 times because the services kept failing to start, then I went to bed at 2 while Exchange was installing and now Exchange SP2 just finished installing so I will see if the services start after a reboot this time.
