Is this title going to be released tomorrow, on October 26'th?

There's zero buzz for this. I'm not even seeing this listed at D2D or at Steam, which is a bit odd for a title whose predecessor, according to Wikipedia, sold... get this... 6 million copies... yes, six million... as of July 2009.

I mean, that puts it right up there with the big boys purely in terms of sales.

I bought my copy from that Steam sale for ten dollars at the start of the year - the game surprised me. It was much better than I thought it would be. I had assumed I would spend maybe an afternoon with it. No way, I almost finished it.

Anyhow, kind of weird that it's not showing up anywhere?

EDIT: I just saw that the file is 'only' 10 gigaybytes. Wow, the original file was something like 25. I remember it took me the entire weekend to download it.

the seth or what ever the hell edition was 25 gigs because they decided to leave the WMA HD audio which was 16 gigs, to bad the game didnt even use said audio.

but its just another console port thus no hype.. i never liked the first one anyways, was boring and easy as heck. i didnt even need to look up the controls i just ran around slicing and dicing and throwing stuff at the enemy.. ahh so difficult.. the 30fps limit didnt help either.

I had fun with the first one, but because of all the consolization problems it had (especially the controls) I am glad I never paid much for it. I don't have high hopes for the sequel, so again I will wait till it hits bargain bin.

I liked the first one, but hated Aspyr's lazy porting. There is no excuse to have a game, which isn't very complex, take up 25GBs. They've at least fixed that this time, but I'm still afraid the 30FPS cap will still be there.

I'll probably play a level or two on a friend's 360 and decide if I think it's worth the cash now, but I'll end up buying it eventually. Throwing ragdolls around with the force actually a blast and they've added the ability for the light saber to remove limbs. A good recipe for a game to kill an afternoon or two.

Ive already read the comic. The plot for this one is fucking awful.

I'm gonna rent it , looks interesting. There has been a huge push on TV for it , I've seen Force Unleashed 2 ads on all the channels I watch constantly so marketing for it seems ok. The weakest part so far seems to be the story line.

I bought the first game for really cheap during one of Steam's sales and was surprised at how much I liked it...the game was fully patched by then and ran perfectly (apparently the game was very buggy on release)

looking forward to FU 2 but with New Vegas taking up my time I think I'll wait for the price to drop...dual lightsabers seem pretty cool this time around

I'm personally looking forward to this game. I probably wont buy Fallout New Vegas, which only leaves TFU2 and Black Ops on PC. After Oblivion, Morrowind and Fallout 3 I realise though I enjoy those sorts of games I dont have the patience for them anymore.

I thought the first TFU was good, yeah, it was a 20gb download (apparently due to uncomplressed audio or something silly like that) and yeah the KB+mouse controls sucked. But with a controller it played well, which is how it was designed to be played.

Picking up my copy either before or after class tomorrow, depends when I get time to go and grab it.

Playing it tight now, enjoying it though there are some bugs I've encountered, such as the loading screen freezes the whole game and you have to exit it via Task Manager but at least you don't have to start again, only from the checkpoint.

My thoughts exactly. I don't consider this a release date pick up for me so with NV taking up the limited free time I have I'll wait on this one.

Yea this happens a lot. The graphics are really nice though. Gameplay is almost identical to the first game.

The controls feel better this time around. Adding a second lightsaber has made lightsaber combat a bit more flashy and a little more fun. Cutting off people's limbs losses its coolness about five seconds in though.

Is it just me or is the voice acting noticeably weaker this time around? It doesn't seem anywhere near as good. Chad Vader does a good Darth Vader still, but the VAs for Kota and Starkiller just don't sound as good to me.

Overall the story is weaker the but the action is top notch. I'm enjoying this quite a bit. However like the last one I don't think it'll hold my attention far to long. Still these are the better crop of Star Wars games in recent times.

I found out via the Steam forums that Aspyr has again not taken out the 30-fps cap. Seriously, that is just pure laziness on their part. I don't need to hear about the "physics engine" not being able to do it because of "issues" blah blah blah. Its pure bullshit. I can't stand playing games in 30 fps, it gives me a headache. I want to play this game and I really love the Star Wars universe, but the first one gave me a headache when I played it (the pulling down the star destroyer bit was frustrating as hell with the console-crap controls) and I am not looking forward to another console game being ported to the pc (even though this time they didn't wait for a full year to port I will give them that).

The game is perfectly smooth at 30FPS. I bet if you didn't know it was 30FPS you wouldn't realize it. Your eyes don't see in terms of FPS. They see motion and light. At 30FPS most games simply aren't smooth are well designed. It seems like they designed TFU2 to run at 30FPS. Much the same way that Crysis can feel smooth far below 60.

Everyone is a little different, and their level of eye training varies as well, just like with anything physical in life...people can detect framerates at varying levels depending on the person. I can tell when a game goes under 40, but I can't tell a difference in any framerate when it goes past about 55-60. Some people can detect framerates a lot higher than that, especially pro gamers.

I noticed the framerate problem in the first one right away, just like I did with spore.

When I started playing both games, I was like "wtf is wrong with my framerate?"

I kept lowering details and it kept running equally choppy. Then I whipped out fraps and saw a constant 30 FPS. Then I went to google and found all the complaints...

I like the price. That's very reasonable.

Forty dollars for this, brand new. Dinner and a movie is going to cost me more than that, and if I buy a game such as this, then I don't have to listen to my friends going through the preliminaries of their divorce proceedings in the car ride both to and from the theater, and sometimes during the movie itself.

The graphics look amazing to me from the clips I'm seeing. That first game warmed my heart, and really caught me by surprise. It made me want to watch the movies again.

The problem with the first one was that it wasn't the least bit stable. It was very jittery. I'm pretty good at noticing when games jitter like that and TFU1 was almost never smooth.

The game does look good. The port is better by a few numbers of magnitude as well. Its not 25GBs either, which is nice.

I really began to distrust frame rates when I bought my GTX 480, and ran Just Cause 2. The frames were indeed a little higher than what I had been getting on my GTX 275, but the game just felt way smoother. The benchmarks kind of lied.

My GTX 480, in virtually every game, has just completely outperformed my old 275, but it's more of a feeling than it is benchmark results.

A lot of stuff with frame rates is how smooth the game feels at specific rates. And also how stable the frame rate is. Frame rate stability and how good a game feels playing it is one big reason reason why canned benchmarks are utterly useless.

Funny thing I noticed in TFU2: In game my FPS sits at 30 99.9% of the time and in cut scenes its over 3000.

Argh, this game keeps crashing with my NVIDIA GTX 480, but if I run it on my ATI 6850, it runs fine.

Yeah, like the first one its capped at 30 FPS which is bullshit but there isn't any lag and therefore I'm happy.

I've only had it crash once so far. Which drivers are you using for the 480?

I only tried it for a few minutes last night but it looks like an Xbox 360 controller is mandatory. It didn't even want to respond with a KB+M. On the flipside, seems to work great with an Xbox controller.

Weird. Keyboard and mouse controls work perfectly for me. I think I ran across someone else mentioning that problem somewhere else. I'll look around after class.

Does this game support eyefinity properly?

Not sure, but considering how tiny the QTE prompts are at 1920x1080 I don't know if it would be a good idea to try, assuming of course that the QTE prompts do get smaller at bigger resolutions.

Try unplugging all of your controllers and rebooting, then try it again.

playing it now, never played the first....I enjoy it, since I'm sick, kids @ school, wife's @ work and mindless killing to pass the time

sounds like an improved version of FU 1 but I hear the game is really short...$40 for 4-5 hours is not worth it...$10 an hour doesn't seem like a good deal

I really enjoyed TFU1. I also bought it after the bugs had been worked out and I never noticed a problem with the 30fps. Game was awesome on 3 screens.

I wasn't going to get TFU2 but I saw that it finally showed up on Steam. Can anybody confirm triple monitor support again (like the first game)?

I also never played the first game.. this one is pretty good.

The first one was really good too. It's not as refined(blurry graphics and isn't nearly as smooth even at the same FPS) as TFU2, but you can pick it up for cheap and have some fun. The two extra levels on the Sith Edition were fun if you're into "what if" scenarios in Star Wars.

I wish they would have continued those along. At least it would have been something different that the short/not overly good story in TFU2.

So did Guybrush Threepwood make it in?

Yep, but he looks really, really wrong in the game. Not bad per say, but he doesn't look at all right with the game and its kind of a poor job, just putting his head on Starkiller's body.

Ok so anyone on the fence about this game? Don't buy it until/if it gets patched. Otherwise you might run into a common bug that forces you to restart a level and lose over an hour of progress. Mind you its the worst level up to that point with the worst design, worst enemies, and worst (not hard, just annoying and dull) boss. So you have to do ALL of that shit over again in the hope the scripting doesn't fuck up again.

Isnt it only a 4 hour SP campaign? Should be enough to dissuade anyone from wasting their money on this.
