I have no interest in doing them. i mean the 16 minute times are cool but I imagine for every one else where the game drags on and on it probably can turn toxic especially with bad builds and such.

I'm in cruise control with it. I enjoy playing it but I'm feeling the way I did when I finally shelved Division 1 (albeit much later) where I'm wondering why I'm playing and what I'm playing for.

complaints about the mini-gunner. issues are to unlock his tank-based talents you need ammo, to get ammo you need multikills in one trigger pull - results = need to build for damage and not tankiness

I need to try this game since I never even pulled the plug on the Division 1
Ghost Recon Breakpoint looks pretty dull compared to this game.

Update: Finally picked up this game I suppose if I wait around it would take another 6 months to be on sale linked my Uplay account from Epic so I need to deal with Epic. Only really intrested in teh story and the game doesn't have supernovas like Destiny every time you fire you firearm.

For those that have hit Tier 5 and are burning out, my buddies and I started new toons (to keep another buddy - who is just starting out - company) and it was really fun playing a lowbie again. Good change of pace.

An interesting fun thing that happened to me / on my lowbie today.

For those of you that remember, there was a side mission to rescue another Division agent (NPC) and much to your surprise, you walk into a building, climb up and around an elevator shaft only to come to an empty office and see the missing agent's dead body strung up in the middle of the conference room. Then you get shocked / tased with no way to resist and pass out. A few seconds later you wake up - alive and unharmed - realizing you just met your first Hunter.

So today during my lowbie playthrough - as I was waiting for my buddies to get on - I get the same quest (about level 16 or so). As soon as I walk in the building, I remember the room from my main toon's playthrough (my current GS500 Tier 5 toon). So I put my L16 toon behind cover and shoot a spray from my LMG through the center of the room immediately followed by a few grenades.

Sure enough the hunter appears as a yellow staticky blob and we go into a game of cat and mouse as I run around the office, from cover to cover, alternately spraying LMG (tactical 249) and rifle (Mk 17) fire, grenades and even my flame turret. But he doesn't take a single lick of damage. Meanwhile he's tossing a combination of incendiary flame grenades, his own machine gun turret and a few shotgun blasts from his own gun.

Eventually I run out of armor kits and my chem launcher and surprise - die. I call for backup and some kind gent hops in and revives me and we continue the dance around the office, shooting to no effect. Eventually, almost like a cut scene - we both get tased and the screen goes all staticky. The hunter walks right up to me and looks me in the face (still looking like a big yellow blob of fuzzy pixels) before the screen cuts to black. The screen comes back a few seconds later - no more static - and the office is empty except for us two and the corpse of the Div agent we were sent to find. So cool!

    Year 1 Journey
The fight for Washington, DC has been raging for months in The Division 2, and over the next year, three free episodes will expand the battleground significantly. These new episodes will introduce new areas, modes, rewards, Specializations, and exotic gear and weapons as Agents face new challenges.

The first big DLC of the Year 1 Roadmap is about to drop and it is the first chapter of a journey beyond Washington D.C. to save an entire nation.

    Episode 1 D.C. Outskirts

    => Episode 1

Episode 1 D.C. Outskirts will take Agents outside of the city proper for the first time to explore the surrounding areas and woodlands as they hunt for President Ellis and the leader of the Outcasts.

    • Release date: July
    • 2 New Main Missions
      • Camp White Oak – where you track down a traitor.
      • Washington National Zoo – where you hunt down the surviving outcast leader and deal with threats throughout 11 different biomes.
    • Expeditions Mode
      • This mode will confront players with cooperative challenges to take on every week as they progress through different wings of Trinity College.
      • This is a new gameplay experience that will need exploration, investigation, and logic to uncover the fate of a military convoy gone dark.

    => Intelligence Annex: Introducing “Expeditions”

Episode 2 Pentagon: The Last Castle

    => Episode 2

    • Release Date: Fall
    • The Pentagon has been taken over by the Black Tusk. It is your job to stop the invading forces and to prevent that the last secrets are blown out in the open.
    • Agents will have to deal with elevated Black Tusk activity and tackle three new main missions inside one of America's most iconic buildings.
    • Second Raid will be added to the game. This time, players will travel to a remote foundry and take on the True Sons.

    Episode 3 Brooklyn: Homecoming

    => Episode 3

    • Release Date: Early 2020
    • What if rebirth is not about bringing the world as we know it back to life but the opposite. One man holds that power and humanity is at stake.
    • Episode 3 Brooklyn: Homecoming will take players back to New York City to confront new challenges at Coney Island. A nemesis is trying to spread the Green Poison virus, and a showdown is imminent when this episode arrives in early 2020.

    Intelligence Annex: Introducing “Expeditions”

As mentioned above, Episode 1 D.C. Outskirts will add the new Expeditions game mode and this is what it is all about:

    Expeditions
Expeditions are free events that bring players to unexplored locations around D.C. to discover new narrative and gameplay opportunities. These sites offer unique challenges and lore not found anywhere else: new collectibles, treasure rooms, environmental puzzles, unique boss mechanics, and more await every Agent who embarks on our Expeditions!

A new mission will appear on the HUD to get you started. Visit the Helicopter Pilot at the Base of Operations to unlock the Expedition site. Alternatively, players can fast travel to the site via the game map.

    Breakdown
A full Expedition site consists of three locations, each having a specific theme and tone. Each location releases one after another, eventually building to a complete Expedition site. If you haven't completed a location before the next becomes available, don't worry! The previous location remains open to explore. We want everyone to take the time to dig into the new elements featured in each location to discover all its hidden secrets.

Completing all three locations grants access to an exclusive treasure room full of rewards!

    Mastery System
In addition to exploration, we have an additional challenge layer associated with Expeditions: the Mastery System. These optional, replayable challenges become available after players have completed the Story playthrough of a location. Measured in Bronze, Silver, or Gold ratings, players are tasked with completing challenges tailored to each specific location. Performance is also measured on the individual level as opposed to groups, so your payout will be a direct result of your own efforts. The higher the rating earned, the greater the rewards!

    Rewards
Complete Expeditions in their entirety—achieving Gold Mastery and accessing the final treasure rooms—to earn a variety of rewards! Be sure to complete as many challenges as possible to earn the maximum number of rewards. Don't forget to pick up the loot dropped by enemies along the way!

That's a wrap for Expeditions! Be sure to tune into all the news during E3 for more announcements and information.

Intelligence Annex: Manning National Zoo & Camp White Oak

With the release of Episode 1 - D.C. Outskirts: Expeditions, we will introduce 2 new missions, featuring new narratives and a vast array of content for you to explore.

    Washington National Zoo
Emeline Shaw, the leader of the Outcasts, has fallen back from her defeat on Roosevelt Island and barricaded herself deep in the Zoo. To get to her, you will need to fight through the blockades and the Outcasts who protect her to put an end to her violence.

As you hunt for Emeline Shaw through the rich and dense environment of the Zoo, you will confront the Outcast leader and her followers in a grand battle. Do you have what it takes to bring down this ferocious leader and her faction supporters?

There are also infographics dotted about the terrain that yield useful information about the many species that reside here, including pelicans, crocodiles, monkeys and more. While Shaw is your number one priority, these details are available for everyone to explore.

To launch this mission, you will need to be briefed by the Helicopter Pilot outside of your Base of Operations.

    Camp White Oak
The Black Tusks and their leader have set up a strategic position close to an estate nestled deep in the woodlands, and your assignment is to take them down and capture him.

As you fight the ruthless and technologically advanced Black Tusks, you will tread through beautiful woods and scenic landscapes with lakes, hillsides and a rich wildlife. The fight will reach its peak at the cabins where the leader is residing.

To access this mission and initiate the operation, you will need to have reached World Tier 5 and completed Tidal Basin. Once this has been completed, the Helicopter Pilot outside of your Base of Operations will be waiting for you!

A little more context anyway (D2 stuff ends about the 6:30 min mark)

Sounds like we'll get Expeditions and to hunt down "a traitor" whom I won't name for those who haven't finished the story yet. Then the Pentagon and another Raid, and lastly we get to go back to Manhattan to track and try to take down Keener finally. All sounds good

State of the game this week was meh. We did get a few nuggets of info about upcoming stuff I hadn't heard yet.
    1. We go back to NY (Coney island specifically) in Episode 3 and Hunt down what everyone presumes to be Aaron Keener.
    2. PTS is closing Friday so I think the next update might follow closely.
    3. From what I understood when we are hunting down the Outcasts' leader its a mission on Roosevelt island again. (I could have misinterpreted that)

For those with more than 16GB of ram.....Does the game try and make use of the addition ram as it does with only 16GB. On mine it seems like the game trys to use most of the ram without going overboard..(14GB area) I wonder if it would use more if i had double the memory?

The way I understood it, we had to visit the Helo Pilot to be taken to an area outside the map for her, I will see if I can find some more info.

That mission was the highlight of the game for me. On my first playthrough, I remember walking into that dimly-lit room thinking, "This is some old-school Resident Evil shit...", then hud starts going distorted and the hunter strolls out looking blacked-out like a shadow. I was lucky enough to pick up 2 LMGs and a sawed-off with fill-er up on a holster and thought, "Haha, it's your turn now fucker!". Nope, after unloading belt after belt, running cover to cover, and dodging for about 15 min, my character got caught rolling into a desk and the bastard zapped me. Still, haven't had that much fun in a game for a good bit.

Sorry, wording isn't clear; it was a side mission, not a main mission. Should be "Agent Edwards Support - Anomalous Mission", it's a hunter introductory mission.

It ends pretty quickly for most people because they'll get zapped off the bat which triggers the final cut-scene, but if you're pretty squirrely, you can last a while and put up a futile effort to kill it.

Also, some people might have powerlevelled past this mission - as Skull_Angel said, it's a side mission. I'm guessing alot of people were in a hurry to get to 30 and skipped anything not necessary to do, so you wouldn't be the only person to miss some of the quirky stuff along the way.

I'm pretty close to shelving the game myself until some new content hits.

I really like what Marco talked about in his Destiny 2 video: They would have been better off having these games like "The Division" and "Destiny" where you just have this base and you just keep growing and adding and evolving vs "2" and then "3." I think he made a lot of good points.

Imagine if this game were really everything from 1 plus everything from 2 as well.

imo that's mostly the same with every looter shooter/ARPG. Now I would not mind some more randomness in the encounters in the missions, I noticed there is some difference in the make up of the enemy packs, but not in the placement.

At least in the division 2 you can get lucky and find something neat/usefull, in destiny 2 it's like this enourmous grind that seems to have no end to it to get most usefull weapons. Not to mention the need to PVP to get some or the annoying julming bits in the game.

I would just like to find a better LMG. I have had the same one since I hit WT5 and started getting 500 gear. been a month at least.

My biggest complaints are the same content week in week out and the gear really just is meh

Hopefully this changes with the next Title update. We will get new content and updates. The episodes coming are going to be good to keep it fresh. I agree, the gear grind is just terrible right now.

I think the problem is RNG gear. There should be much much less of it. What is left should not have any RNG at all. Just gear with purposeful fixed stats.

Probably the crafting needs to be changed to give you 2 slots you can change/upgrade. And actually crafting from scratch is a total joke, unless they have seriously changed that. You had like 1 shot to get anything decent then back to the scrap pile.

Speaking just for myself although I've seen others agree:

This is where Destiny blows this game away for the most part. Inventory management as a whole. Clean, simple, and intuitive.

Crafting and inventory management is a chore in this for the most part.

Crafting is almost non-existent, but the inventory management can be said to be the true end-game... Lately, most I do is loot runs through several zones on pre-defined paths and total up around 250 items in an hour or so, but it feels like I spend twice that just sifting through it to find hopefully 1 piece worth keeping as an upgrade or recalibration piece. After about 10,000 looted items; my gear sets aren't even near 80% optimized either... Hahaha!

I prefer the low RNG in Warframe to over abundance of junk drops in The Division 2, but at least the overall gameplay is enjoyable. By gameplay alone, I'd rate it Warframe > Div 2 >> Destiny 2, personally.

Edit: To clarify; this loot system (RNG tiered on RNG, tiered on RNG, tiered on RNG) makes the grind feel unrewarding, where in Warframe or Destiny 2 the grind might not always be as enjoyable (repeating more specific tasks), but the means always seem to lead to rewards that feel like they're worth something.

I got lucky the other day, while I did get ganked by another player, he left my loot untouched so I managed to get 10 drops out of the DZ when I was done, now did I keep any of them, that's another discussion, but try to go on moments with less players online, and avoid the invaded zone (or whatever it's called) to maximise your chances fo getting someting out or take a couple friends with you.
