If you don't mind factory refurb items, an audigy2 zs would probably fit your needs.. It comes with a warranty so the refurb risk should be minimal..

I'd get the audigy value before I got the Live. Audigy values can be had for under $50 if you shop around.

It really shouldn't, if it does then that would make it defective and eligible for return/exchange.

I vote audigy2 6.1 or audigy2 ZS 7.1 at creative's ebay store.

Don't believe there's any major difference between the vanilla 6.1 and ZS 7.1, outside of the extra channel of course. I have the vanilla 6.1, am very satisfied with it, and my research led me to believe there isn't any major differences with the ZS model. Somebody correct me if i'm wrong

DTS digital surround, THX, and the value has worse signal to noise..

Supposedly uses a few more cpu cycles than the ZS, but don't know where I read that and have not tested it myself.. So take it with a grain of salt..
