i thought you might be just sleepy or maybe drunk. :D

Sleepy, I am now a bit, but not when I posted that. I was not inhebriated either, but I wish I was. It would make a better excuse, and I would be having fun at the same time.

Instead... i'm just an idiot.

so what is everyone else constantly hitting refresh on new egg hitting?.... i'm watching the intel processors main page there...

I just keep searching for E6600. I care not about other conroes. I want my 6600 or nothing atol.

I wondering if I woudl get good results just sneaking in on buy.com preorder. Its a good price, and I plan to awit for the DFI board anyways, so I am not in a huge hurry to get the chip. Im more worried about having it when i want it for a reasonable price.

wow. Lots of people waiting to get this chip. Good luck to you all on getting them.

8:32 EST and only MircoCenter seems to be shipping, at $380 for a E6600. Nothing from ZZF, Newegg, Monarch is still doing preorders which could ship out as late as the nd of the month, and ClubIt has no stock of anything but the 6300. I think I wil wait till after work...

I wrote a small app that runs a search on NewEgg for the E6600 every couple of minutes. The minute any results show up, it will send me an email at all my email accounts. :D

WATYF

Well, Fry's in Tempe had the e6300 for 229 and the DS3 for 179. Seeing the AM2 3800 for 179 w/ board gave me hesitation. I guess I'll end up waiting a bit longer...

i called newegg and they said it would be nearly 2 weeks before they have the core 2 duo. its funny that theres a recording when you call saying how knowledgeable the phone staff are. i had to explain what conroe and core 2 duo was to the guy. he looked it up and they were just ordered today and would be in stock in a couple weeks.

They are here but cost too much "Way more then intel said" and are still limited.

Yikes 699.99 for my e6700  :(

This wasnt a very good launch... Hooray for Nvidia the only company that really does hard launches.. :p

More than Intel said?

About this much $ Intel said.
E6300 219.95
E6400 249.95
E6600 329.95
E6700 399.95
X6800 999.95

Where's my bang for my buck when every cpu is way over these prices?

Its just the mobos are a purdy penny too. Would be nice if the mobos cost as much as AMD's. Then that would be cool.

thats not the right prices. the E6700 was always over $500 in their price structure and the E6600 and below were all a little cheaper than you have listed on all the info i saw.
