I have a large case, Coolermaster ATCS 840 with a Corsair H100 cooler that uses 4 fans in a push/pull configuration. Temps were at 45°C at idle, and 75°C under full load (video transcoding). Today I decided to clean the inside and change the direction the push/pull was blowing. I thought my temps (45/75) were too high and the cooler direction was blowing out. The Corsair radiator was very dirty, so I cleaned that and switched the direction of the 4 fans to blow in. My temps went to 65°C at idle to 86°C under load. Then I decided to replace the thermal paste since it has been about 3 years since I built this. Did that, and the temps are now 50/80. I switched the fans back so they are blowing out again and that did not change the temps. Any idea what is going on?
By the way, about 2 months ago I added a fan controller and an exhaust fan at the rear of the case. The fan is adjustable up to 182 CFM. It is very loud at full throttle, but it does not even change the temps one degree.
