It definitely has C&C / Red Alert vibes... and I dig the crunchy metal soundtrack too. I'm interested. 3d realms tho? Have they done anything in the last 20 years outside of Nukem?

The game is being made by Slipgate Ironworks and published by 3D Realms. They're both part of the monster holding company Embracer Group.

Oh man this looks cool, I can't wait to try the demo but I need to leave my office first... or... everyone else needs to leave the office lol.
 
If anyone is hankering for a retro style RTS take a look at Beyond All Reason (BAR). It's a rehash of Total Annihilation so it's not a C&C clone but it's pretty good for a F2P player-developed retro-RTS.

You can get it on GreenManGaming for $42.49 after code 'APR15' - and GMG doesn't charge tax, like Steam.

Seems that the cheaper version also released early now.

Still waiting for a proper amount of real reviews to settle, though.

Edit: on second thought, not a chance in hell. Their eula mentions peddling of in-game currency:

4.4 The COMPANY will credit the In-Game Currency to the User’s Account after receipt of the payment

Yeah, just saw on Steam, the regular version is released now too. I guess they are calling it just a pre-order bonus for both versions.
 
DLing now.... (for the $40 version)

They won't get me for any cosmetics but if the game is crazy-good, I'll buy additional expansions etc.

Either way, I'm so tired of C&C 3 even at crazy DLDSR resolutions with Lossless Scaling to "circumvent" the 30 fps cap..
 
Played a lot in alpha/beta. All I can say is if you like C&C 3 style gameplay this game scratches that itch. I hope it sells well, although it's a shame they couldn't just get the C&C IP from EA which would have boosted sales.
