Hello friends,

need ur help again:

Note: i want to bring down my desktop temp.
current idle:
mobo: 41C
cpu: 44C
gpu: 58C

full load:
mobo 45C
cpu: 58C
gpu: 82C

Mobo Asus P5Q
CPU Intel Q6600 G0
GPU XFX 8800GT 512MB
RAM Transcend DDR2 800 240P 2GB

1- i want to buy Thermalright ultra 120 extreme (u guys think if it ok and will work with my CPU) (my cpu is Intel Q6600 G0)

2- what will be the best and 100% compatiable thermalright cooler for my GPU (u think HR-03 GT will work 100% and will be compatiable for my display card) (my GPU is: XFX 8800GT 512MB)

3- do i need to buy RAM cooler from thermalright. (my RAM is without heatsink) so, if i need to buy then what should i get from thermalright. (my RAM is transcend ddr2 800 240p 2GB)

thanks in advance and sure u guys will help me again.

my next step will be OC'ing after bringing down my desktop temp.

where are those temps coming from ? with a Q6600 you want to use coretemp or realtemp and it will report 4 temps, one for each core. You posting just one temp makes me suspect you are reading them from the bios and that is usually wildly incorrect. Get coretemp installed (easy small quick download and install) and post back.

Yes, excellent, one of the best and it should be fine with your cpu and board.

Again yes, excellent, be sure to put a fan on it.

NO, with a 9x cpu mulitplier you can OC to 9 x 400 = 3.6GHz cpu speed (you will be lucky to get that easily) and with the desirable 1:1 memory ratio-multiplier you memory will run at 2x the FSB = 800MHz which is right on spec. so the memory is not OCed at all and should not need any special cooling.

What you will find is that you will most likely end up somewhere between 340-370 FSB for around a 3.2-34 GHz OC and have to make a choice on memory mulitpliers, one will underclock your memory a bit, and one will OC your memory a bit and then you have to decide what to do and what OC your memory can stand and if you have to loosen timings. Cross that bridge when you get to it and even then all you need is some air on the sticks. Fancy memory coolers not needed unless you are doing some seroius memory OCing. Save your money for now and see where you end up after you are done with the cpu because you can always just hang a extra fan with a tye wrap to blow on the memory until you figure out where you are going to end up. Then go buy the fancy ram fans/etc. Unless of course you have a big stinking pile of money sitting out in the back yard getting rained on. In that case, eh cant hurt to buy something. I dont like the thermalright or any other ram cooler based on a heatpipe. If you ram gets hot enough to make the heatpipe work effeciently its already too hot. Get the fans that hook onto the ram retention latches, several companies make them. But I still dont think you will need anything unless you intend to get the absolute max out of the memory/board and in that case you would have been better off geting PC1000 memory so the " which memory mulitplier" issue was not a concern.

yes... i am using utility to read temp. which came with asus p5q mobo.
but i am also using coretemp real-temp speed-fan tools to keep checking my system temp.
for all 4 cores its around aprox 41 40 38 40 on idle using all above tools.

thnx for all ur explaination. really helpful. sure u saved my money and ofcourse i will not buy any ram cooler.

but can u help me about mobo.
my asus p5q mobo temp is starting from 29-32C when i switch on my pc and i reach to 40-41C and stays there on idle pc with load it goes around 45-46C do i need to find a way to chilled my mobo...???

thnx again
