Yeah, we all roll our eyes when we see this kinda stuff in the movies but now that these things might become a reality, it is instantly awesome with an emphasis on “awe”.

A picture that came to mind was a man, dressed in a Batman suit flapping around in one of these. Seems like fun!

I really hope they don't plan on keeping it that color. Nothing says "shoot me" more than not being either blue, white or gray in the sky (or black at night). :-P

But other than that, I for one welcome our rocketeer overlords!

Technology certainly help though. I've always joked that when the next revolution happens, I'm staying home. If you guys want to fight with pitchforks, rifles, handguns, and steak knives against a military with stealth bombers, MOAB, nukes, tanks and missiles, by all means, have a great time! Send me a postcard :-P

Technology doesn't win wars. Generals and Commanders win wars.

 Wrong on so many levels, your boss can make all the demands he wants but if you don't execute effectively and efficiently all bets are off. Those with dirt under their nails and on their boots get it done.

On topic: I think Kyle needs one to watch over his [H] flockers :D

Battles are won by Sergeants and Petty Officers and Chiefs. Generals and Commanders "win" the credit.

Unless you have been a General or Commander then you can't make that statement.

Have you been a General or Commander?

It's not that simple guys.

The best generals in the world without decent logistical support will easily lose to 'average' generals backed up by good logistics. (And no, the general is not always fully in charge of logistics. In some countries, there is something called a 'budget' and 'politicans'.)

And highly motivated and trained elite troops will generally lose to 'regular' squaddies with better intel and superior technology/firepower. (As the Americans well know and use to good effect. I'd tend to bet on the 18-21 year old regular American troops kicking the elite vets of most nations around in most conventional fights simply because of their massive tech and intel advantage. And not because these teenagers are superior warriors.)

- logistics help to win wars
- intelligence helps win wars
- morale (including the media) helps win wars
- leadership (political, military, diplomatic etc.) and organization help
- properly 'applied' technology helps win wars
- and, of course, you also need the troops
- etc.

All these help. But none of these by themselves will "win". And I'd like to see a major nation win an average war if you take away just "one" of those factors. (so, yeah, technology helps)

Looks like a flying Hamburger to me, shouldn't they invest in some protective amour instead, maybe a good health care system that does not only trump the 3rd world?
