1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming.
2) What's your budget? $3,000
3) Which country do you live in? Hampton, VA
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? 1-3 monitors, i really want the asus swift. CPU, GPU, RAM, motherboard, case, SSD, HD,
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Rosewill Xtreme Series RX850, maybe a couple of SSD'S
6) Will you be overclocking? Yes.
7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it? I have a 1080 but was thinking about 1440 and even 4k
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC? This weekend.
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? Onboard video for bqcup . but mainly just need SLI
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? No, I'm gonna get a win 8 key from a reliable guy I know on reddit.

Here is what I have come up with so far. I hate that I have to do some extra work to get around the h440 not having an optical drive bay, but hey I'm open to suggestions and criticism.

i5-4690K instead
Corsair H80i instead
Gigabyte Z97X-OC instead (personal preference)
2x8GB ram instead (you only have dual channel anyways)
Good choice on the SSDs (Don't RAID 0, pointless)
GTX 970 instead (Get three instead, GTX 980 is not worth the extra cost)
Optical drive is useless

My Revisions
I changed the case, but case is really a personal thing, I love the Air 540's, they are very different, lots of space, handles everything well.

Upgraded the CPU/HSF as the The Dark Lord mentioned.
I swapped out for a single 512 drive, as I agree on not raiding the ssds in raid 0, and switched to 2x8GB PC2133 memory at the proper voltage for the processor.
Really, I'm not gaming at super high resolutions anymore 1920x1200 is where I maxed out, so I haven't been keeping up with Video cards for 1440p or 4k gaming.

If your only gaming at 1920x1200, SLI'd 980s are overkill. One will be PLENTY.

(SLI/Crossfire hassles are, just that. A hassle. Not worth it for that resolution. One
980 will tear up that rez and in say 2 years, you can just replace it with whatever's
next etc etc....)

Invest in a better power supply for the rig. That Rosewill is just insulting....

So yeah, go down to just one 980 and drop a bill on a decent PSU etc.

I'm going to be on a 1440p/144hz monitor, a 4k monitor, or 3x1080p again. That's why I want two 980's. Also, Star Citizen. My rosewill is really no bueno huh? I remember reading a lot before selecting it...it was part of my "get ready for sli" plan. Hmm.....should I stick with nvidia here? G-sync really appeals to me because I hate tearing so much, but apparently amd has their shit together with crossfire nowadays.

It is a good PSU. However, after 8 years, it's time for a new PSU man. Especially if you're going GTX 980 SLI. The two PSUs that horrorshow posted are solid choices.

As for your list and Syran's, a few changes:
1) Ditch the Asus Sabertooth motherboard. While that motherboard is a good motherboard it's just way too overpriced for what it offers. Especially since it gets into X99 pricing territory. I recommend any of these other motherboards instead:
$126 - AsRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer Intel Z97 Motherboard
$127 - Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI Intel Z97 Motherboard
$145 - Asus Z97-A Intel Z97 Motherboard

2) With the money saved from going with a cheaper motherboard, upgrade the CPU to the Core i7 4790K. The reason for this is Star Citizen. Last I checked, the developers for Star Citizen are making that game extremely multi-threaded so the Core i7 4790K's extra threads will help out in that game in the long run. In fact, IIRC, among recommended specs for Star Citizen was a Core i7 2600.

3) The H440 is an excellent case. So if you do decide to stay with that case (the Corsair Air 540 looks FUGLY to me), to solve your optical drive problem, just get an external optical drive. I mean how often do you actually use your PC's DVD drive? I haven't had a DVD drive in my PC since I built it in January 2014 and haven't really come across a situation where I needed to use a DVD or CD.
