Greetings From Greece

Another journey begins for Barf (and as usual it starts when another project is in the works!). I seem to have a problem... I need two projects going on or else i get restless and start modding household items... you will soon see what i mean...

Having not bought into the 1155 P67/Z68 chipset, i feel left out being stuck with an x58 board and i7 920 (3 years old almost), and as such i decided to buy myself a present:LOL: (many presents to be honest).

agreed.

eeeh. It seems to be the trend now to have this treatment to photos for work logs...

:D

agreed.

Agreed... actually let us enjoy the fruits of your labor. Although the photography is very nice.

so far there appears to be no labor, only fancy photography of the pc components...

On a side note; how are people getting "sponsored" for PC builds? And what does that mean? Do you get free parts? And what are you being sponsored for? Is the build going to appear in a magazine or tradeshow? I haven't paid close attention to the modding scene for a few years now, but it seems to have really popped up in the last few years. I'm a little confused.

No the build is happening.... just forgot to update this forum... (im sorry)

This case is really a monster!

My Motherboard put on her swimsuit... EK VRM block, XSPC Raystorm, and Bitspower Ram coolers... Sexy ;)

Here she is with her 2 7970's. Unfortunately the bridge i purchased was too small, and i reordered another...

Enzotech Stop plugs!

I have an idea for the Waterblocks, but i am unsure if i will go through with it...

The beast... Little Devil PC-V8

Panel Off! (after way too many screws...)

Plugs for the panel screws.

PSU Fan hole in the midplate

Cable Management? I think it has enough... hehehe...

Grill for the quad radiator

The trunk of the case.... This will eventually become a freezer ;)

Amazing quality finish on the case...

Radiator stands and the PSU support bracket.

Storage Warehouse

So lets put the motherboard in place.

Cougar fans, ive heard good things about them, so im hoping i will get the results i am after :D

Test fitting one of the rads... Its going to be a tight fit, but i think i can make it work :D

And an overall body shot of the case with a radiator and the motherboard in place.

I think ive given you enough food for thought ;)

Until next time,

Happy Modding :D

I the manufacture painted the case. Certainly looks nice for a $630 case, as well it should. I am guessing that you dropped somewhere just north of $3k on everything. You might want to consider adding some red (or maybe orange depending on the hue as it looks orange in the lighting but the manufacture says it is red) cathodes to help make everything stand out but you might not need them. It just depends on how everything looks when you are done. You will definitely need to sleeve all of your cables in either all black, red, or orange. Good luck and by all means take your time. It will take hours to make this look great because of the two tone coloring and layout.

I actually havent calculated, probably because ill get a heart attack but yeah... spending wasnt an issue...

It isnt red... it is actually orange... it comes in many colours, red orange, green blue, black, white, and i think custom colours if u pay extra ;)

I am not going to put cathodes in, but a lighted midplate instead. Sleeving is going to be balck and orange, but mostly black.

i dont think it will take too long, but i definately need to find the time to actually sit down and play around!

Thanks for your kind words and ideas :D

I really like the outcome, but i am not happy with the finish.... i went and bought another kind of marker to see if i can get better results... Fingers Crossed :D

Not trying to hate too bad. But...with the exception of what you just posted... this still applies, yes?

Also still curious about this!

Heya...

Yeah, still ahvent gotten to the nitty gritty part of things, as i am working on a side project which is a priority so i at the same time i am trying to push this forward before my parts get out of date :/ so its a bunch of easy things to start with...

Hopefully ill be starting the more serious modding soon! :D

as for the sponsorships...

It depends, there are some that give you free gear, some that give you discounts, some that give you nothing for your wallet but give you exclusive parts or access to these parts ;)

hope this helps :D

Love the color scheme but plz tell me you're not going with orange tubing also, that'd be too much orange. White would look nice, black would work but maybe a little boring.

Looking fantastic so far, can't wait to see more progress.
Thanks alot! Im itching for updates too but RL has me flooded!

Yeha i saw that too... but ive changed some things :p

Update time :D

I put together a test system to check for leaks... But ill get to that soon! :)

Fans spinning :)
imageddm.jpg

i was a little bummed out when i found out i cant have push pull on my top rad, i got 60mm of rad and 25 per fan... Total of 110, and i think the clearance is 95mm :( no worries though, installed the fans and the rad...
imageyajh.jpg

I also received some new lamptron buttons, they arent the usual round ones, instead they are sort of like crosses and triangles, a clearer picture when done will help you understand!
imagexuc.jpg

Sat and figured out the best tubing route... Im not sure if its going to stay like this because i am having a problem locating a decent location for my reservoir...
imagexqa.jpg

imagegrq.jpg

I must admit, i thought this case was big, but now that most things are in, im runnin out of space!

Also, my test system consisted of a quad rad with fans, and a 360 witout fans, my cpu idled at 30c when it was 24degrees ambient. With an extra quad rad im guessing my temps are Going to be even better!! :) happy happy barf :)

Furthermore, while looking at my case and thought there was a bit too much orange...

So i changed it :p

I was quite pleased with the result, even though its not perfect, that will change because i am going to re-apply it :D

After iw as done, i looked at my mouse...

and i thought that was too black... Time to change things :p

nik8237.jpg

Also had the chance to do some more vinyl work on my GPUS...

Black matte PCI brackets :D

And the crossfire Bridge ;)

Thats it for now guys :D

Until next time :D

Looks great, I personally would have left the mobo tray orange.
Im still not decided on whether or not im going to keep. The only reason i am considering it, is because the orange Details get lost on the orange backplate...

+1
The wrap looks meh. I also doubt its gonna match the rest of the cases black.
It is actually VERY VERY close match to the case, ill try to take pictures for you to see...

Oooh Good job! Steve one day ill be on the front page again, And this time it wont be for the ghetto mods.

Η φραπεδιά όλα τα λεφτά... ;)

Keep up the good work!!!

Sweet build. You should be able to easily get 4.8Ghz+ on that setup. I run 4.8 on an H80, 24+hr prime stable.

Sponsored case modding? I wish I could get a sponsorship.

I have some very interesting ideas that I can't have done without the proper capital.

I think the motherboard plate would look great once you put the motherboard on there- the orange will become an accent rather than a large flat surface.

I am a pretty picky guy when it comes to PC's but dude this is so clean and looks top shelf!!!!! You have an eye for detail for sure.

Thanks, ill try!

Lets hope so... a friend of mine was able to get it to 5.2ghz on a RIVE using a Single stage, He told me it doesnt do very well, but i will try and get the best out of it.
What Vcore you running? What board?

You can, email the company that interests you and explain your idea. They are generally very open to new ideas. It helps if you have a case or two to show examples of your work.
I thought i would never be sponsored when i first started seeing builds. just keep trying, and keep positive! :D

Thanks dude! I too am very picky, and i may spend 100's of $ on 1 little thing, to get it right...

Wow, this build is amazing. Great job. Can't wait for finished pictures.
Thanks alot! I cant wait for it to be finished to USE it :p

Wow... Your build is coming together quite nicely! I'll be sticking around to see how this one turns out! I think you're going to be pretty satisfied with the Cougar Vortexes. I run five of them in my tower and I am very pleased with their noise signature/performance.

P.S.
And congrats on being the "Case Mod of the Day"!

Thank you! I turned on four of them to see what kind of nosie levels ill be looking at, and i must admit, they are really quiet! and they push tons of air! :D

on another note, i finally figured out my tubing route...

i need a few more 90's and 45's but its finally done!

heres my idea... (thanks to Carl for his idea...) Using 90's and 45s i was able to route my fittings AROUND each other... making a cleaner route easier to acheive.

nik8263.jpg

It goes GPU -> Left ram (bottom) -> CPU in -> Right Ram(Bottom) -> Rad -> Mosfet

I Had some free time and finished up some mini mods on my psu... Here is what i did.

I think the end result is nice and subtle enough without chaging the actual appearance too much:
