Is the screen on the T240HD the same as the screen on the T240? Someone was saying that the T240 has a superior screen. Is there any evidence to prove this? If they're the same, I'd prefer getting the HD model.

What he/she was probably referring to is the panel type. Both the T240 and T240HD comes with either of the following panels

Samsung panel
CMO Panel

The samsung panel is a bettter one than the CMO one. You'll need to get into the service menu to see which one is being used.

How is this performed? I am curious as I have a new T240.

Thanks in advance!

Acess the hidden menus via lowering brightness & Contrast to zero, tap menu, then hold source for 5 seconds.

Thanks, worked a champ!

Here's my info:

Scaler-MCU: MStar
Version: M-TW24HOCAA-1004.2
Checksum: 54F0

Can you tell me which panel I have..... this is totally Greek to me!

Thanks in advance!

Here's the deal that should apply to all 226BW panel numbers. Not sure if this applies to the T240.

M-ME22HOCAA-1002 should be a Samsung Panel, because of the location of the "A" in the model number. (x-xxxxxxxAx-xxxx).

Here are other letters and the relevant manufacturers.

X-xxxxxxxAx-xxxx: Samsung panel.
X-xxxxxxxLx-xxxx: AU Optronics panel.
X-xxxxxxxDx-xxxx: CMO panel.
X-xxxxxxxIx-xxxx: CPT panel.

Yep you have the Samsung panel.

GREAT! Thanks for the info guys! I finally got around to installing the monitor driver that came on the cd and "wow", what a difference it made. I was previously using the plug-n-play Vista drivers and was about to take the monitor back to BB due to serious reflective ghosting in the first 2 missions of COD WAW, but after installing the proper driver it has all cleared up and the graphics look much richer and fluid. Really made my day because I really didn't want to get into swapping monitors and such.

your monitor has a proper "driver?" Most monitor cds just contain some color calibration software and a "driver" which is really just a .inf file read by the os to tell it what monitor model it is, and what its max resolution and refresh rate are. Not really a driver. I'm curious as to what makes you think that you installed an actual driver which enabled proper use of the monitor. Doesn't make any sense to me.
