System "Soft Freezing" Help Needed!

great, I am glad this info was useful to someone. It was maybe the most frustrating thing I have had happen in recent memory. I called every tech support for every part of hardware I had driving myself nuts trying to figure out what was bad

UPDATE
-----------------------------

It has been a while, but I feel it is my duty to update this in case anyone ever has similar issues.

It WAS NOT the gadgets causing the problems after all. After I posted my last post I again starting having the same issues.

It was a bad HDD. The drive that I had windows installed on stopped spinning at random times, causing the soft freeze effect. Sometimes it could happen daily or it could go weeks without happening.

After extensive testing and frustration I finally pulled the HDD and replaced it. Problem has been fixed and I RMA'd the original HDD for a replacement.

Have been using the new HDD for over 3 weeks and now issue.

I really hope this all helps someone in the future. It is important to note that the HDD passed all testing. The problem never happened during a test and therefore all programs showed the HDD as healthy.

Cheers

I had the same thing but also experienced the issue from a loose SATA cable, as I mentioned... looking back at my post it wasn't very clear that I meant that it was a loose SATA cable or something causing the drive to not respond to OS requests periodically. Glad you got it solved :)!
