Scrapping the intel setup for a64 and am not 100% up on the newest tech. I'm not waiting for Venice and do not want to go pci-e, so that left me with deciding on A8V Deluxe and a 939 3500+. This pretty much the ideal oc'er setup with a zalman 7700, xp90, or xp-120?
 
I like the XP-90/120 better than Zalman's new model, cools a lil' better from the limited testing I've seen and it's a lot easier to install/transport.
 
I notice everyone has a 3000+ and no one seems to be using 3500+ to oc... I definitely want some guaranteed mhz as I've been royally screwed on oc'ing in the past with luck. Do people get 3000+ over 3500+ just because of price.. is the 3500+ a good oc'er if I have the cash?
 
Also it seems 3 boards are good for oc'ing... anyone have any suggestions or personal preference between the DFI NF3 lanparty, k8n neo-2 plat, and the A8V deluxe?
 
OC is half luck, the 3500 is only 400MHz faster than a 3000 and carries a premium for it. Is it worth it? Depends on your budget, the maximum OC of my chip seems to be 500MHz, others get as high as 2.6GHz... That's no guarantee that you may get a 3500 to 2.6GHz though, it may very well not OC more than 200MHz in a stable manner. As for the boards, do some research on the boards, tons and tons of discussion threads on it already (mobo section might be a good place to start eh?).
