SWTOR beta

We are obv beta testing the beta testing signup.

I tried 3 times in Firefox before ditching it for IE and I'm able to scan my system now.

Fuck you website. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me six times, shame on me.

If any game could be a WoW killer its this game. With the enormous amount of interest that caused the site outages I am more convinced that Blizzard needs to watch out.

Got my "Invite" to apply for Beta this morning, signed up for it with no issue....
go figure.

people will play wow until blizzard turns it off. so i highly belive this game would not be a wow killer.

Agreed. I don't see any game anytime soon that's going to hurt Blizzard. This game may be very popular, it might even get more subscriptions than WoW, but I don't see WoW dying as a result of it, or anything.

Sign-up worked fine for me in Firefox. Just had to do the system scan in Internet explorer because it uses ActiveX. I don't see this game being a WoW killer at all even if it does draw lots of people.

Nice, I turn 18 on the 15 and I can't sign up. Ive been on the site since it had registrations... how wonderful.

Eww it requires Java! I can already tell this game is going to suck.

Managed to sign up - finally! Used Firefox and just kept trying until it worked.

Whats funny about this whole thread is that people are complaining and worrying about signing up for a beta. A beta is to help the company work out bugs and report problems, and people that are getting stuck on the sign up forms are freaking out. It seems to me that some people think they will be getting quality playing time with the game and thats why they are signing up.
Once the beta starts, you will get these same people posting threads about how many bugs are in the game and they won't be playing it....

Have they sent any invites out yet, or is it still just signups?

in my experience sign up ....................then beta testing the game is either weeks away or months still. dont know if it will be a wow killer but we shall see. if anything could take a large player base away from wow. blizzard is gearing up with cataclysim also.

The lack of patience displayed by some people in this thread means they would be horrible beta testers anyway.

Dont worry cataclysim itself will take away a large portion of the player base.

Why? I'd think if anything that would help retain subs for WOW, and bring in some new players.

 I didn't know if they had already begun or not, since I don't browse their forums every day ;). Some games begin immediately (a week or so), others wait months... so how is it impatient to ask? I've been on many betas of games before they were opened up broadly or just open beta'd. A question like that doesn't mean someone's going to be a poor tester :p .

I was referring to the people freaking out and angrily cursing that the website for signup was messed up. I can only imagine what they would do with the game servers going up and down repeatedly, massive changes nerfing their characters, etc.

I think Spaceman was aiming me this at me for getting agitated at the 'hilarious' signup loop.

I may not have the patience of Job, but I can test, worry not
