I'm normally a Nvidia guy but they are getting their ass handed to them by ATI performance/price wise so Im ready to switch sides for my gaming computer. A plus is that is my mobo is a crossfire board so that is a possibility down the line and I have the option to go with Eyefinity in the future. This next Monday Im going to be ordering a 5870 but this being my first enthusiast ATI card I have a couple of questions.
What brand should I get? Im leaning XFX because they have a lifetime warranty, is there another company that offers a lifetime warranty with good service that I should go with instead? The Lifetime Warranty is important to me as I plan to keep this card for awhile as it will be one of the more expensive cards I've ever bought (I usually buy mid tier but I have a little extra saved this time)
These are the two cards Ive been looking into
XFX HD 5870 $389.99
XFX HD 5870 $399.99
I see the egg lists one as Radeon HD 5870 and the other as Radeon HD 5870 (Cypress XT) but what is the difference between the two? Nothing stood out to me in the pictures and the stats when i compared them.
Last time I used CCC it was crap does it have the option to force AA, Vsync, ect for individual games like you can with Nvidia?
I plan on doing the driver cleaning before installing the card and im not going to overclock it just yet.
Anything else I need to know before taking the plunge?
