I'm normally a Nvidia guy but they are getting their ass handed to them by ATI performance/price wise so I’m ready to switch sides for my gaming computer. A plus is that is my mobo is a crossfire board so that is a possibility down the line and I have the option to go with Eyefinity in the future. This next Monday I’m going to be ordering a 5870 but this being my first enthusiast ATI card I have a couple of questions.
What brand should I get? I’m leaning XFX because they have a lifetime warranty, is there another company that offers a lifetime warranty with good service that I should go with instead? The Lifetime Warranty is important to me as I plan to keep this card for awhile as it will be one of the more expensive cards I've ever bought (I usually buy mid tier but I have a little extra saved this time)
These are the two cards I’ve been looking into –
XFX HD 5870 $389.99
XFX HD 5870 $399.99
I see the egg lists one as Radeon HD 5870 and the other as Radeon HD 5870 (Cypress XT) but what is the difference between the two? Nothing stood out to me in the pictures and the stats when i compared them.
Last time I used CCC it was crap does it have the option to force AA, Vsync, ect for individual games like you can with Nvidia?
I plan on doing the driver cleaning before installing the card and im not going to overclock it just yet.
Anything else I need to know before taking the plunge?

I wouldn't trust the lifetime warranties of any of the red guys who offer it aside from XFX.

Most people would recommend buying reference cards but the only reference cards on there are HIS.

The ASUS cards are also a good option I find but there is no lifetime warranty.

So why would i want to get a reference card? Also i see that CCC doesnt allow per game settings customization :( i would think that would be important and easy to implement as Nvidia has had it for some time now. I use this option alot as alot of the ports weve been getting have issues with Vsync and no AA options and its nice to enhance older games. I'm really not looking forward to giving it up.

Joking right?

no thats what i saw. im not sure if its a typo but i copied the specs and put them side by side because it seemed wierd that there would be a 10 dollar difference for no reason besides the game (but why would the game bundle be cheaper). and the clocks of the memory were different. check it out
