You must of played the hell out of this game to go through it a second time, I've only got 71 stars but I think I might play through it a second time as Luigi if I still need something to do after I get the first 120 stars..
 
I bought the kids a Wii for Christmas because of the Godzilla fighting game coming out along with SMG and the Hannah Montana series. ;) Maybe this will get my son off the Xbox 360 so I can play some more GH3.
 
1 buck says u ll kick the kid of the Wii to play SMG :p

I wish they made another 2D plataformer with great graphics... similar to SMW

They're on the DS. Yoshi's Island and New Super Mario. I bought them both for my 5 yr. old daughter ;) .
 
Well as an update I have finally gotten all 120 stars with Mario and have unlocked Luigi... not sure if I will play the game a second time but this game was one of the best I've played in recent years.

Same here.

I probably won't go back through as Luigi, since nothing really changes other than he jumps higher and runs all slippery. I was at least hoping for some subtle story changes how Luigi is playing second fiddle to Mario ;)

I want to move on to something else, but getting those 120 stars was an amazing experience.
 
if you do the final (i'm guessing) bowser level when you get 60 stars can you still go back and get the rest of the stars?

You actually *have* to go defeat Bowser before you can get all the stars. Nothing happens to your save game or anything for beating him, the game carries on as normal.
 
Some of the levels are ridiculously hard. I literally tried over 50 times, to no success mind you, on one of the last purple coin levels and I gave up.
 
I agree this is a strong candidate to the best game ever all categories... I took a break after collecting 61 stars though currently playing metroid prime 3 another helluva game with some helluva boss fights... Playing on veteran it can be frustrating at times and they don´t exactly get easier :p

Yeah dude. I'm not sure anybody can quite match a good Nintendo boss battle after some of the better Wii games. Some of the stuff in Mario is insane.
 
Yeah though the boss fights in mario and metroid prime 3 is absolutely opposite... Boss fights in Galaxy isn´t exactly challenging. Many galaxies is actually harder and there isn´t really any galaxy that is seriously impossible... You really have to suck at games if you can´t take 61 stars in SMG. Though better to easy then to hard for sure. The most fun one was when you are throwing bombs around it really feels like you you are in the game and throwing bombs around due to the wii remote :)

If anything that can be a bit disappointing most of the stuff in Galaxy could be done as well on a regular gamepad. Though its nice to spin for a spin attack or get more air and the sling star wouldn´t work without the wii remote... Still metroid prime 3 makes much better use for it :)

And as for my adventures, i have 119 stars, and I can't for the life of me beat the last Toy Time galaxy purple coin challenge. the one where you're on the giant 8-bit mario where the floor disappears as you run on it. I've tried at least 30 times and gave up for now, lol.

Beat the game finally, very awesome experience. Now i have 35 stars with Luigi. Gotta beat it with him too and then find the 2 hidden stars. 242 Stars, here I come!
 
I beat it last night with 61 stars, but after I beat it, I go back to the observatory and the woman says I need 59 stars to go to the other world?

Whats in the other world, is it just a bunch of other galaxies or unlock some characters or is there some more main story line to the game?

You get to play the game with Luigi. He runs a little faster and jumps a little higher, especially on the triple jump.
 
as said somewhere else, this game could make an emo kid smile and think tomorrow might be a better day.
 
fun game, but i find my head starts to spin after an hour or so.
 
My brother-in=law got me this for Xmas and I must say that it is a gerat game. Rivals that of Mario 64 when it first came out, could not help but feel like a little kid on Xmas day opening it and playing it for a while. Also, my fiance got me Super Paper Mario to go along with it, funny though how she has done nothing but play SPM the entire time (she is hooked!).
