Just thought I throw this out there... my SG03 came, and I put it next to my Laptop and monitor... this thing is SMALL! :)

Some initial impressions are mostly positive. However, I was a little disappointed that the front fan mount holes weren't exactly aligned or had much room for washers. My Corsair H50 fan took a very long time to mount for the top two screws, and bottom 2 screws will not fit washers at all (it should still work, but I'm not sure how well).

I have a SG02-F myself, and they are significantly smaller then so-called "normal" cases.

It's a 16"... I've gotten used to it and it's a nice change from the 17" ones I used to have. :)
 
Nice pic. I ordered a GA P55M-UD2, Intel i5 750, 4GB RAM, W7 Professional 64bit, and a Corsair H50 for my SG03 upgrade. UPS has it out for delivery today. :D

Well, I ran into problems. Major ones. First it took me a long while how best to mount the fan and radiator in the SG03. What a PIA that was but I figured it out. Next came the back plate and retention bracket and the big problem with it. You place four metal inserts into the back plate and this is what the metal screws will screw into. This went fine at first but one metal insert just plain refuses to stay in place and wont allow the screw to thread in. I tried getting it to stay in but it just keeps popping out whenever I try to thread a screw in. I even tried putting this together with the mobo outside of the case where I could get two hands on it while trying to thread in the screw but I guess when they made metal insert hole they made the hole too small or messed up the threads. Not sure. Looks like hole is too small. I tried several screws since they give you eight but nothing works. I can get the water block part tightened down on three screws but the fourth is too loose and I worry about not having a good seal on the cpu.

I been working on this all day and I'm tired and fustrated with it now so I'm going to call it quits and try again tomorrow with a fresh mind. If I cant get it to work correctly I guess I'll use the retail hsf that came with the i5 750 and see how bad that is. I suppose I could even put the old NT06-Lite on it but I wanted to leave that on the old mobo for another use. Stupid Corsair. I'm really mad at them at the moment. :mad:

@skott, IMO you should RMA the H50 as i believe that should be poor manufacturing

I'll give it the ole college try tomorrow one more time before declaring defeat. Maybe something will work out. Sometimes a good night's sleep and a fresh perspective does wonders. Anyway, If not I have a fall back plan. I'll use the retail hsf until I can come up with something better. Not a total loss if it comes to that. :)

Hmmm... strange. What board are you using? I had no problems getting the H50 installed on the EVGA X58 Micro. I installed the backplate and secured it double side foam tape, and the screws provided threaded on without objection. Did you use the right plastic bushings and screws? There are only 4 bushings and 4 screws that work for Intel (1366 & 1156 I think) while the other 4 bushings and screws is only for AMD sockets.

God damn though, mounting the fan and radiator inside the case was a huge PITA.... especially because the 24 pin connector and Memory are literally placed right next to each other, with the radiator about a hair's width away from the 24pin connector.
 
@ MJZ I'm using the GA P55M-UD2

Okay, some good news. I tackled it again today. I ended up getting one of the screws to work properly. I think its like what MJZ said and the screws are slightly different. To be honest I cant tell. I can not see any visible difference. The video instructions said the same screws are used no matter which version you are using but yet they give you eight in the same small package? You do use different bushings but I knew that from the instructions and video. The manual doesnt give a lot of info in critical areas. Basically I used the combo of video and manual to do the job. The video helps a lot but its not fool proof either. Thing is is that yesterday I just grabbed four of the eight screws because the video said they use the same and I managed to pick three out of four to work properly. Go figure.

The immediate problem now is since I tried installing the block on yesterday, without success and leaving it off over night, I need more thermal paste since what is on there is not much. I thought I had some AS5 in the refrigerator but apparently it didn't survive the last cleaning purge the wife did. So now I need to go buy some. My parents are back in town now and I have to go visit them today so I'll try and get to CompUSA and see if they have any thermal paste. Not sure they'll be open by the time I get back being its Sunday. Might have to wait til tomorrow.

Anyway, all for now. My apologies to all for the thread derailment. :)
