1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
3D rendering, programming, photoshop and various other stuff. Gaming Also

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
Well 3000$. Depends how much is needed

3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
I'm from India, i'm buying from LA, USA

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
I'm made a list of the parts i think i should get, need to just get this looked into

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
Keyboard maybe. idk

6) Will you be overclocking?
yes. the cpu and gpu

7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
3 x 24" x 1080P

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
This to next week

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI
support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.
hmm, i think the board i have chosen has all of these.

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
I have my own win7. 64bit

I have decided to make a new pc.
and the purpose of it would be for university/school also for gaming and stuff.
This would include 3d rendering and some programming.
So this is what i have settled on the list. Have a look if you would like me to change/tweak anything.

Code:
CPU : Intel i7-3770K Quad Core Desktop Processor
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116501

Notes : My thought on buying an i7, is it's the best at the moment, and would help me in my various 3d applications

Code:
CPU Cooler : Noctua NH D14
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608018
Notes : I think this is the best air based solution available atm

Code:
Motherboard : GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H-WB LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
[url]http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128549[/url]
Notes : A decently priced motherboard, not much as asus but more than asrock

Code:
Ram : 8gb x 4 ( 32gb total) Mushkin Blackline Enchanced
[url]http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226316[/url] x 2
Notes : 32gb of ram for the few vm's i run. i actually need >16gb but <32gb.
so i was like whatever.

Code:
GPU : SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7970 OC 3GB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card (11197-01-40G)
[url]http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102982[/url]
Notes : I'm really interested in eyefinity and hence an AMD card, i'll be using this on 3 x 1080P so might run short on power, hence have planned another gpu for CF and the end of this year.

Code:
SSD :
Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
[url]http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148442[/url]
Notes : Had thought of an intel 330, but this is better and fasrer and has all 5 star ratings on newegg.

Code:
PSU :
Well I originally thought this :
Option #1 : Antec TPQ 1200w | [url]http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371032[/url]

but as i was told that it would be an overkill, as i plan to go for two cards later this year. it is for 220$ atm, and for 1200w it's a good deal. It's a 80 Watt Silver btw.
I did use a psu calculator gave me 1000w, someone in person recommended me a 750w.
Little confused on what to do.

Option #2 : SeaSonic X750 Gold 750W
[url]http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151087[/url]

Code:
Case : Cooler master HAF X Blue Edition
[url]http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119239[/url]
Needed a Full ATX Case, so this seems decent.
Require some liquid cooling support for future upgrades

Code:
Optical Drives :
DVD : [url]http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135204[/url]
BLUE RAY : [url]http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135247[/url]

Right now comes the monitors,
I need 3 x 24" monitors for eyefinity and cause i use multiple monitors.
i need this is a somewhat \ _ / kinda way. i'll be using it in landscape mode.

I've selected these monitors :
ASUS VS248H-P Black 24" HDMI LED Backlight Widescreen LCD Monitor
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236153

And these stands with vesa mountings
http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10828&cs_id=1082802&p_id=8097&seq=1&format=2

I checked they fit on a 100x100 plate. what worries me is how is going to work.
i'm not sure. Also i plan to DE-besel these monitors for thinner borders, they are currently 3cm for both combined i plan to make them 8cm. ( 4cm each),

A setup like this : http://www.hardwareheaven.com/articleimages/amd-eyefinity-setup/eyefinity-screens2.jpg

Thank you for reading, please offer your feedback.
Good Day

**NOTE** - I need all components to be 110-240v, because i have 220v here. **NOTE**

The HD 7970 3GB isn't that great of a choice when the cheaper GTX 670 card performs on par if not better than the HD 7970 3GB. Plus you won't lose out on multi-monitor gaming since there is Nvidia Surround, basically Nvidia's version of Eyefinity. Combined with Nvidia's generally better drivers, the GTX 670 is just the better choice overall:
$400 - eVGA 02G-P4-2670-KR GeForce GTX 670 2GB PCI-E Video Card

However if the GTX 680 is in stock when you buy, get that card if you can. If not, the GTX 670 will be fine.

The RAM is OOS. However, if you can buy before the 28th, I recommend two of this RAM:
$110 - G.Skill Ripjaws X Series F3-12800CL10D-16GBXL 2 x 8GB DDR3 1600 RAM

There's a promo code, "EMCNEHH42", that will knock off $30 from the total of getting two of those RAM sets.

PSU wise, the X750 Gold will be enough for your needs, even with your overclocking and SLI plan.

I don't recommend that HAF X Case since there are better quality cases out there:
$120 - NZXT Phantom PHAN-001WT White Full Tower ATX Case
$130 - NZXT Phantom PHAN-001BK Black Full Tower ATX Case
$130 - NZXT Phantom PHAN-002OR Black Finish w/Orange Trim Full Tower ATX Case
$144 - Silverstone RV03B-WA ATX case
$150 - Silverstone TJ04B-EW ATX Case
$160 - Corsair Graphite Series 600TM ATX Case
$160 - Silverstone RV02B-W ATX case
$164 - Corsair Special Edition White Graphite Series 600T ATX Case
$178 - Silverstone RV02B-EW ATX case
$162 - Corsair Obsidian Series 650D ATX Case
$220 - Silverstone FT02S-W ATX Case
$230 - Silverstone FT02B ATX Case
$270 - Corsair Obsidian Series 800D CC800DW Full Tower ATX Case

Hey Danny thank you for replying.

#1. The GPU, well i was thinking the AMD 7970 well cause it has 3gb of vram, and would help me in my 3d related stuff. Also i don't have idea how nvidia vision is, i know a few people with eyefinity setups they don't have any major problems. Also as for Drivers, i use a AMD card in my htpc a 6670. not had any driver issues. I see you have a AMD card, may i ask are drivers.

Also i would really like a future proof system, i don't like upgrading often. so i guessed the 3gb of vram would help out there, also the issues with performance looks like a driver thing for the most part.

As far as benchmarks go, the 680 and the 7970 look in par, trading blows here and there.
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/508?vs=598

and the 7970 looks faster the 670 in mostly everything
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/508?vs=598

Not a fan boy or anything, just want something future proof.

#2 The ram you linked me 1333Mhz. Looks like a good deal though

#3 In the case, i said it wrong, i was looking for a full tower not a full atx.
sorry about that, also i would like something made from metal, i mean the panels etc.
I had thought of getting the 800D, well i dropped that for bad airflow without watercooling.
and the silverstone raven had a problem with the sliding door breaking off.
I was thinking to install an hot swappable bay into the case, but the CM HAF X already has it for 2 drives. hence i thought of it as a good idea.

Other than this what is your opinion of the monitors and the mounts ?
do you think it will work ?

Thanks again

The VRAM argument is largely irrelevant, the 7970 doesn't really benefit from having 3GB compared to the 2GB on the 670, even at Eyefinity resolutions.

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/508?vs=598
Not really... the 7970 is faster in Crysis (as AMD cards tend to be) which make up the first 8 benchmarks (maybe that's skewing your conclusion) but the 670 is faster in BF3 and Skyrim which are very popular games. But it depends on what games you play, you should ignore the benchmarks in the games which you don't play.

Regarding eyefinity, you should check the viewing angles of the monitor you're considering (on tftcentral/youtube, etc.) or get some IPS panels instead, because you won't be viewing the 2 side monitors straight on.

I was going off this more realistic review:
http://www.hardocp.com/article/2012/05/14/geforce_680_670_vs_radeon_7970_7950_gaming_perf

In the above review, the GTX 670 performs just as well as the HD 7970.

It takes AMD quite a long time to release solid drivers, especially for those using Crossfire or Eyefinity. Two examples exemplifies this: Skyrim and BF3. It took AMD about two months after the release of each game for solid Crossfire and Eyefinity drivers. Nvidia had solid drivers within weeks/days of those game releases.

A short article on AMD's Crossfire driver issues:
http://www.hardocp.com/article/2012/01/17/amd_crossfirex_drivers_opportunity_lost/

In fact, read the conclusion of the GTX 680 & 670 VS HD 7970 & 7950 review I linked to earlier. That should illustrate AMD's driver issues.

I do have an AMD card but it's an older card and I'm not doing Eyefinity or Crossfire. As such, the drivers for my setup are simpler, more stable, and about as fast as can be. However your planned GPU setup is very different from my GPU setup.

Not really a problem: With Intel platforms, they do not benefit from higher speed RAM. With that said, I did link the wrong RAM. Here's the correct link:

No I understood what you said. I still disagree with the choice of the HAF X nonetheless. I also disagree with your reasons for dropping the Silverstone and 800D. The 800D still has a very solid airflow.

Not much of an expert on monitors and mounts so you may have to hit up the Display subforum

I waited a bit of time before replying waiting for some 670 multi monitor reviews.
well did not find many, but what i have understood is a 670 will run most games in 3 monitors with a average fps of 35 fps. Which is not much, but that what's i will need to SLI for,

I have a few questions.
#1. Can i run more than four displays using two cards. I mean like a 1x5 portrait setup like amd. with all active setups.

#2. Do i need a second 670 urgently or can it hold till xmas this year.
for gaming of-course >40 fps

edit :
oh yea i forgot. I read somewhere in a single 670 with 2gb of vram, 3x1080P makes it run short on vram, hence i was thinking.
the price difference is not much so more could not hurt right ?

vs
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130782

just one question, i think i need to sli with a 4gb card then ?
correct?
and 2gb one would not work

As for the cabinet.
i would really like hot swapable bays, other than that i don't find any particular issues with the HAF X. You said there were some issues with it. i dropped the 800D cause it was a little expensive. was thinking of the 650D what do you think about it ?
i would like a cabinet made from metal rather than plastic the panels i mean,

http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Obsid...1W9K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1338833885&sr=8-1

I need a full tower and something with a good amount of cd bays.
also need it big with decent airflow and some w/c support for later on.

Thankyou for your help all,
i'll go to the display section for help with the monitors.

Thank you :)

1) AFAIK, no.
2) It's largely dependent on you, not me. If 35 FPS at max settings isn't enough for you and you really need more, than go for a second GTX 670.
3) It's your money. More VRAM won't hurt anything besides your wallet. And yes you would need to SLI with a 4GB card. If you SLI with a 2GB card, it cuts the available VRAM of the 4GB card down to 2GB.

As for the case, the 650D is a good case.
