US
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.

Case - Corsair Obsidian 550D - Purchased
Cooling - Corsair H100 - Purchased
Power Supply - Seasonic X750 Gold - Purchased
Motherboard - Asrock Z77 Extreme6 - Purchased
EVGA GTX 680 Superclocked
CPU - Intel 3770k
RAM - Need suggestions. I know the Samsung RAM seems to be the favorite but what are comparable alternatives for a less than "enthusiast" overclocker?

Since you're just gaming, zero reason for you to get the i7 3770K beside wanting a larger e-peen. You'll be fine with the i5 3570K.

RAM wise, any of these RAM will be fine:
$47 - G.Skill Ripjaws Series F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL 2 x 4GB DDR3 1600 RAM
$48 - G.Skill Sniper F3-12800CL9D-8GBSR 2 x 4GB DDR3 1600 RAM

Because it costs roughly $100 more than the i5 3570K but doesn't offer a high enough gaming performance increase to justify that $100. At most, you'll see a 2% performance increase. The main difference between the i7 3770K and i5 3570K is that the i7 3770K has HT and 2MB larger L3 cache. Most games aren't that heavily multi-threaded and that 2MB larger L3 cache doesn't affect gaming performance that much.

The i7 3770K is really worth it if you're doing a ton of video, audio, or 3D editing/rendering or lots of Virtualization work. But for gaming, not worth it outside of giant e-peen or multi-boxing MMORPGs.
