Looking to upgrade my son's pc with new build. Currently he has a Intel Core Duo E4400, MSI P6N Platinum motherboard, 2gb RAM, pair of nVidia 7900 GS KOs in SLI
with a 250 GB HD, power supply is a cheap one from local store (bought in a pinch).

Any suggestions?

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
surfing, gaming, streaming videos, email, some video editing
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
under $1000 - the lower the easier on the wallet ;)
3) Where do you live?
SC
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
case,cpu,motherboard,ram.power supply,video card,HD
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
DVD/cd drives
6) Will you be overclocking?
maybe
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
using a Sony Bravia KDL-32M3000
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
asap
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.
not sure
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? 32bit or 64bit?
have XP pro but want to move to Win7 64bit

I wanted to say thanks for the specs. I finally got it all together and it is running great. I got a Cooler Master HAF 922 case instead (was only $10 more) I did have to redo a couple of the combos but still got everything for about the same price. The video card was hard to get cause every time I went to order they were sold out. The cpu temps idle around 24 and under load get about 57. Way better than the E4400 that ran quite hot. Again thanks for the help.
