• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

Some forums and webpages are now including a little floating icon in one corner of the page that follows you down as you scroll. It's sole purpose is to take you back to the top of the page. For the [F]forums, at least, this would be nice.

Hook me up with some links of this working please. I would like to see it in action.

I think this would only be useful for mobile - specifically Android. Apple products have a convenient, built in return to top function built into the OS, any practical computer will have a home/pageup set of buttons. At any rate, there is already one at the bottom for [H] forums. Though, as already noted, it doesn't float.

Check out any story at Theverge.com.
They used to do it on mobile too, and not with a giant bar (recent redesign).
But while I don't think it would make sense for [H] reviews, which don't have long individual pages, the homepage and the forums can be pretty long pages, and in order to do any navigation, you have to scroll to the top or bottom.
This can be tedious on mobile particularly where there is no "home" key.

Just a suggestion.

I've seen this on some mobile pages where it shows only when you start scrolling up. I'll pay attention and link if I see it again.

I want to see what he is suggesting in action before I spend any time working with this.

Too easy to clutter a good design up.
And that would be my biggest concern. Keep in mind that we have no "mobile" version of the forum so any changes made impact viewing the forums from small phones to large monitors. I am not sure we can implement something like that and make everyone happy.

The quick navigation button to the bottom right above the footer bar (which already has "Top" as a link) does well enough if someone is looking for quick links. Also, at the bottom of every thread, there is the crumb trail (ex: Forums > [H]ard|Forums Information > Forum Help & Feedback). I think this forum software already provides enough links at the bottom to jump somewhere else with ease.

I think you're both right, the current layout is too good and a lot of people (me included) get OCD about floating unwanted things.
Also, plenty of browsers support gestures and whatnot. No point in doubling system/browser functions.
