Hi, I have been looking all over the net to find the answer and I am still not convinced to which screen is good enough. There are always some cons.
Currently I have the old Samsung 19" 970p, it is not so bad but I wanted to have a bit more space for 3d modelling. Since my current monitor is 5:4 it is not so small. If I compare it to 24" the latter is the same height just a bit wider so I don't see the point for going into this size.

I think the best choice for me would be 27" as they have much better performance than 30". I know that for the graphics the input lag doesn't matter so much but still I want to be able to play some games and I like shooters so I would like it to be able to handle them pretty well.

Can anyone please post me some suggestions (when I was looking to HP ZRW30 I found out that it doesn't have a scaler, so this is also very important to me that it should have it)

ok no suggestions, so maybe someone can say anything about the lag on dell u3011, I saw the video comparison side by side with hp zrw30 and it looked very bad for u3011, it was so much slower that you could actually see it bare eyes. is this really so very obvious and disturbing while using this monitor? I know that u2711 has much better performance but how much?

Love my ZR30w. May not have all the inputs and bells and whistles the others have, but it has a great picture and not much lag. I'm very happy with it so far. :p

+1 on the zr30w. I can't imagine a finer image quality. Lag is not an issue. My vid card will do the scaling, but really, why wouldn't you want all those glorious little pixels?

If having an internal scaler is important you are going to have to sacrifice input lag. At 30" the HP ZR30W has the best lag, at 27" the Apple Cinema Display has the best lag. Both of these have no internal scaler. The Ultrasharps do have a scaler and the lag is one additional frame over the ACD and ZR30W. Have you tried gaming on an Ultrasharp? Some people don't notice the lag, myself included.

I don't notice the latency [U2711] over.....:

w2408h
u2311h

admittedly, both of those also have internal scalars. However, as they are operating on a much lower resolution, the latency due to scalar may not be as bad... At any rate, from what I know, the GPU induces more latency than the monitor can.

I did notice some overdrive (or whatever the current name is for pixel color transition speed) blur on the U2711 that was not present on the U2311h.

Ok guys so think that actually I would like 30" mostly for graphics any additional space is a great help and also I don't want to go for the biggest one available so it will last a bit longer in size terms.

I am considering 3 models at the moment:

1. Hazro HZ30Wi-q
Pros:
- good price £806 incluing tax and delivery
- input lag average 14.4ms
- colors and other parameters are very good see review
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/hazro_hz30wi.htm
Cons:
- no OSD and very limited configuration (just 5 presets of brightnes)

2. HP ZR30W
Pros:
- smallest input lag of the 3 average 10ms
- quality and parameters are very good
Cons:
- no scaler means I have to use native resolution all the time, 1080p is
being scaled to 1200px
- price £1050

3. Dell u3011
Pros:
- loads of inputs
- most configurable of the 3
Cons:
- very high input lag of about 24.4ms
- highest price £1105

I know Hazro is very known also it is very basic models but it includes most of the
options I need. I am used to not to change any configurations as my 970p has no
buttons at all so I am fine with this. HP's Lack of scaler is a real issue for me and this is the only problem I have with it, and Dell's input lag is just to big.

I am thinking most seriously about this Hazro, what do you think about it, the only mnatter with it, is that I don't really know this brand.

Couple final questions for ZRW30 owners:
- when you watch 1080p bluray but your monitor res is on 2560x1600 how does the picture look like, is it acceptable?
- also if I would like to lower my resolution for gaming so I could have a bit more fps (I don't care about the screen sharpness in this case) I read that to have it scaled properly I will need to use half of the native one it would be 1280x800, is this true?
