Suddenly my CPU fan is running at 100% and is quite loud.

Motherboard: BOXD975XBX2KR (Intel "Bad Axe 2") with latest BIOS
CPU: q6600 NOT over clocked (at stock everything)
Cooler: Zalman 9500 LED
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (updated)

What I have done. Verified that the fan in question is the CPU fan. I have reseated the cooler. Cleaned it and put new Arctic Silver (followed recommendations on their website).

Downloaded Speed Control and the CPU temp is registering at -128C (so I am assuming there is a thermal reading error).

What do you think I should do? The fan is very loud and annoying, I would like to quiet it down. And its running at full blast, can't be good for it. I have thought of using the fan controller that came with the cooler to manually slow it down, but I can't find it, and it really doesn't tell me what changed.
